    REALLY Active Fermentation

Also so for the long delay, finally had a chance to get this uploaded. I now see that the homebrewtalk app on my phone turned the gif into a JPEG image.. weird. Video of the activity [11s]

First Cider from fresh picked Apples

Well I just finished processing a metric crap ton of apples through my meat grinder and it worked like a charm! I ended up using my old BIAB mesh bag to collect the ground up apple pulp which I just manually squeezed. I left 1 gal of juice to ferment naturally on its own and another 5 gal I...

First Cider from fresh picked Apples

I've brewed about a half dozen beers and am looking to do my first cider. I have access to about a half dozen apple trees, although I don't know the style, so I'd love to extract the juice from the apples and make a cider. I don't have any way to press the apples that I know of and I've read...

    Party Pig

I've been a user of party pigs but have never tried to fill one myself. One of my local craft brewers has part pigs of their beer available to purchase but the pig has to be returned :/ I'm in the same boat, I'm not ready to get into kegging yet but would like to have something a little...

First Stout - huge blow-off - Can I save the brew?

I just had a similar experience except the imperial stout I was brewing also blew out the blow off tube! 5 gal in a 6.5gal better bottle. I had a rotation of blow off tubes clean and sanitized ready to go on the carboy whenever it decided it had had enough and blew out. Was using safale s-04

    Austin Homebrew Supply

I had this *exact* experience also. First class overnight of the bottling bucket spigot. On the other side my friend recently ordered his 2nd ever kit from northern during their recent sales. His entire order was held because they were out of carb drops. The thing he didn't need for a month...

    Raspberry wheat. when to add

Thanks. I bottled at the beginning of June, decided to pull a bottle and try one again. Much better than it was but maybe a little more time will ease the pain :) I know a raspberry wheat isn't typically a long aging beer but maybe by next spring it will be amazing

    Raspberry wheat. when to add

I recently made my first raspberry/strawberry wheat and ruined it :-/ I used 3lbs of fresh raspberries and about 2 lbs of strawberries, puree'd, strained, and pasteurized the resulting juice (about 2L worth). Racked on to juice in secondary after primary fermentation finished. Came out of...
