    Florida Water?

I live in South Florida. Well water is a real headache that chages constantly with water table. A few large bottles of water from the store is the way to go in my opinion. I only have one batch under my belt and it is very good.

South Florida - Home temtemperature 78 - Spare fridge question

I knew nothing about fermentation temperature control, so my first brew (Scottish Wee Heavy)spent the first few days in my bedroom at about 78 degrees. Next few days I wrapped a wet towel around it with a fan blowing on it. I managed to get the temperature in the low 70's. I found a...

    First Batch Testing.

I posted this in the bottling/kegging forum, but since I am a beginner, I will post it here too. Been reading the post about when the bottled beer is ready to drink and the consensus is three weeks minimum. I have bottled a batch of Scottish Wee Heavy. Probably not the style for your first...

    Taste Test

Two weeks into the bottling process and it tastes good. Even my wife even liked it. It has some tastes that my wife and I can't pinpoint, but we aren't experts. It is very good as is, but I will try another bottle next week and compare. I believe it's a real Scottish ale.

    Taste Test

My Scottish Wee Heavy has been in the bottle for two weeks. Being my first home brew, I cant wait any longer. I put a bottle in the fridge and I am going test it out tomorrow. A little early for a Scottish, but why not?

What can I do with this tank?

I picked up another tank at a local thrift store. $10.00! I guess living near the tank manufacturer has its benefits. Needs a little cleaning and some ports welded on. It has two 1.5" outlets on the bottom. Measurements on the tank is about 12" dia. x 24" tall

    Fermenting in Phoenix

I live in Florida and had to use a swamp cooler until I got my fermentation fridge up and running. I just sent away (thanks to another member mentioning it) for some yeast that is made in New Zealand. Ferments ale between 68 and 90 degrees. Purchased some online from Rebel Brewers. They are...

Anyone haerd of these new Yeasts from Mangrove Jack's (New Zealand)

Since I had so much trouble getting to the proper temp for my Scottish Ale, I am ordering the Workhorse Yeast from Rebel Brewer. The Workhorse yeast has a great temperature range, especially when brewing in Florida.
