eBIAB - control panel died? Need help troubleshooting

I really appreciate all the answers in this thread! I will replace the contactor and wire, then go from there to see if that resolves the issue.

eBIAB - control panel died? Need help troubleshooting

We took pics of the panel and took a closer look at the terminals. It looks like one of the wires going into the SSR burned out (see pics). Does this mean the SSR failed? Additionally, does the scorch mark on the wire also mean we should replace the power cord going to the element?

eBIAB - control panel died? Need help troubleshooting

IIRC nothing looked burned up when I opened the panel. No char/smoke or other signs of physical failure that I could see with my untrained eye. I'll take a picture and post it here when I can.

eBIAB - control panel died? Need help troubleshooting

I am looking for answers/help with troubleshooting the control panel for our eBIAB set up. We have a Colorado Brew System "Nano Brewer" and unfortunately, the company shut down last year so we are SOL with customer service. Last week while brewing, we noticed the heat element was slower at...

I have a problem where most of my NEIPA's taste the same regardless of hops used. Help?

There’s a lot of factors to consider so will need more info- what does your grain bill for a neipa look like? Do you adjust water chemistry? have you tried doing a hop stand with majority of the hops? What yeast and ferm temp? For example, to get that juicy neipa I start with chloride/sulfate...

    Water Profile for IPA/Kveik?

Hello all! I am going to be brewing 12 gals of our favorite IPA and the plan is to split the batch into two brewbuckets - one will get Imperial Juice yeast, and the other will get Kviek yeast. It will be our first time using Kviek so I am curious about it! My question is what water profile...

    Feedback on Barleywine Recipe

Thanks for the input! I thought about flaked rye since I figured it would add body to the beer (ie. similar to flaked barley/oats/etc). I may stick with flaked rye since I've read conflicting information about which gives more rye flavor between flaked/malt rye, so may be worth the experiment...

    Feedback on Barleywine Recipe

Normally I would do a shorter boil, but I noticed my efficiency drops when I brew bigger beers on my system if I do not sparge so I want to hold back a gallon to rinse after the mash. With 1.543 qt/lb, I will have 9.64 gal to mash and one gal left for the sparge.

    Feedback on Barleywine Recipe

Hello all! I am looking for feedback on a barleywine - I am curious about the hop combo/schedule and if the IBU is too high for a BW. Also would like any input on the flaked rye and if I should use flaked barely instead. Honestly, any thoughts would be appreciated! :mug: 6 gal eBIAB batch 90...

Best ways to move mash basket?

We have a Colorado Brewing system - we went eBIAB due to cost/space, as we don't have the budget to go full eRIMS with multiple kettles. So far we do like the system, and our efficiency is about 68%. We probably will adjust our grain mill to boost that, and we may start doing a quick rinse at...

Best ways to move mash basket?

We do have a old 3g brew pot from our extract brewing days. it’s not as big as the mash bucket but we can angle the mash bucket into the pot and let it “sit” with support from the pulley so it drains into the pot.

Best ways to move mash basket?

We will check into the track mounted into the ceiling. We brew in the basement of a old house so we have pipes/wiring that could get in the way (dangling/hanging below floor joints). Could we mount the track on one floor joint or do we need to mount it perpendicular to the floor joints to spread...

Best ways to move mash basket?

Odd question but BIAB related- how do you guys move the mash bag/basket out of the way when the mash is done? We are doing 20g eBIAB in the basement so right now we have a pully system bolted into a rafter, and we have the brew kettle on a stand with wheels. We roll the kettle under the pully...

Cleaning Old Stainless Steel Sink and Tables

the faucet doesn't look to be polished - it's old and beat up so hard to tell if it's chrome plated or something similar lol! can do a pbw soak first to see if that helps

Cleaning Old Stainless Steel Sink and Tables

I was talking about the tube that connects to the sprayer (pic below). it may be easier to just replace that as well, since the bones (faucet/sprayer setup) are in good shape but the plastic is old/worn out.

Cleaning Old Stainless Steel Sink and Tables

Thank you! Will look into disassembling the casters. Following up- Can I use bkf or pbw to clean/soak the faucets in? They are grimy and may have to replace the sprayer. Not sure if the faucet is SS, could be chrome plated. Additionally, is it possible to replace the tubing?

Cleaning Old Stainless Steel Sink and Tables

hello all! My question is basically the title- what’s the best way to clean used stainless steel table/sink? My brew buddy and I have been keeping an eye on CL recently for SS stuff since our old plastic utility sink broke and our worktable is wood which is a no-no for brewing. Luckily we were...

    3 Kegs Carbed, 4th Didn't Carb

Update: the beer is starting to carb slowly at 30 psi, tank is still holding co2 so definitely not a leak. I am suspecting it is the gas disconnect/poppet that is restricting the flow of co2 (as others mentioned in the thread) as the keg does take longer to re-pressurize compared to the other...

    3 Kegs Carbed, 4th Didn't Carb

Great tip - we will try this and see what happens :)

    3 Kegs Carbed, 4th Didn't Carb

Yes, we vented the keg to test if co2 was flowing into the keg and it would vent then re-pressurize. Also manually pressed the co2 quick disconnect and co2 flows out normally, manually pressed down on the poppet on the keg and co2 comes out. Am hoping its just a random situation and not an...
