Induction hot plate or SS Brewtech 1V E-brewery?

I actually just discovered the Blickman BoilCoil. I'm now thinking I might just add the 240V coil to an existing BK and also get the manual knob controller. What's your experience with the coil? Do you think it will work well on smaller volumes?

Looks like you're using the SS 5.5 gallon kettle? your set up is exactly what I was thinking of doing so I'm glad to see it's working well

Induction hot plate or SS Brewtech 1V E-brewery?

Hey All- I just renovated a laundry room to use primarily as an indoor electric brewery (clean clothes and laundry come in a distant second). I installed a new countertop and a dedicated 240v 30amp circuit with the intent of getting SS brewtech's new 1V e-brewrey. However, I just unearthed an...

    2L ss conical fermentor

Oh man. I was blinded by the fact that I found a cheap ss conical shaped vessel that I didn't even realize that it was way too small! I can't believe I missed that!! Thanks for saving me a few bucks.

    2L ss conical fermentor

Like a lot of people on here I enjoy building stuff for brewing as much as I enjoy brewing and beer. I've been making 1 gallon batches lately and I was thinking of making this into a conical fermentor. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JZXKNWI/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 I figure I would drill...

    SSR placement on heatsink

Thanks. I'm hoping to save a bit of cash and repurpose the heatsinks I have but the ones you posted are a good choice. Better than what I could find on amazon.

    SSR placement on heatsink

Quick question- I've got a few DIN mount heatsinks for my SSRs and with the way they are designed the SSR sits on top, making them quite tall. I'm wondering tough, would heat disapate just as well if I were to mount the SSRs on the side? The heatsinks don't have a lot of fins like most others...

    Cat5 help

Thanks for the help. As usual I discovered that I made a boneheaded mistake. I put the wires in the male jack in the right order but I put them in backwards because I had the jack facing the wrong direction! I put a new jack on with the correct order and everything is working fine.

    Cat5 help

I'm trying to use cat5 as a quick disconnect for my motorized ball valves (three wire) and I'm running into some problems. The valve wire is too thick to fit in the male housing of the jack even though it's 24 like the cat 5 cable. So, I twisted the individual valve wires on to cat5 wires...

    Element question

I managed to get it on. I took a pair of pliers and pinched the top (at the fold) together a bit while I slid the nut on. Didn't need to bend it. Once I got it over that first bit it went right down. Thanks for the help guys!!

    Element question

I tried bending it but This thing is pretty solid. The tip of the element is folded over so much and too close to the bottom half of the element (or the nut is too thick) that I can't even get nut between them to wiggle it on. Maybe I should try heating the element in some hot water before...

    Element question

    Camco 1500w 120v ulwd http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000KKVZUO/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 1" hex nut http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003GXF5EO/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

    Element question

Well I'm putting the element in the kettle so the nut has to be on the inside too. The tip of the element won't fit through the nut so I can't get the nut down to the treaded part.

    Element question

Hey Folks I've got a relatively dumb question here. I just picked up a ulwd heating element and nut for my brew kettle. I'm assuming that I got the right size nut but I can't get the folded portion through the nut. Should I get a larger nut? Try to bend the element?

    Peltier-TEC Fermentation control

Hi Everyone, I'm brewing one gallon batches these days and I want to dial in fermentation control with out a separate fridge (I'm in a small apartment). I worked up this diagram of what I think might be a good Pelteir cooling system for a small amount of liquid (water and beer), however, I'm...

Pump Box - Dual 12V pumps with PWMs

Hey Weezy That's pretty cool. I'm looking to do something similar in terms of setup. I've got a 5 gallon system that I run off a BCS 462 control box. I've also got a 1 gallon system that I'm trying to turn into a self-contained automated countertop rig. I'm looking at the same pump that you...

    BCS/pump wiring

Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it. I posted over on the embedded control concepts forum and managed to get a better schematic together. I've posted an updated version. Let me know what you think. I already bought the SSRs and terminal blocks so I need to work off of those...

    BCS/pump wiring

Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum- just got a BCS-462. I've been brewing for a while and wanted to step up my game but I don't really know much about electronics. I've got a friend helping me out this weekend (I don't even know enough to be dangerous so I'm calling in backup!) but I'm trying...
