    So I brewed coconut porter just toasted my coconut and dropped into a hops sack placed into the secondary. My question is how do I removed all the small floaties of coconut that escape the bag before bottling?

    I am making a coconut porter. I have 10oz of fresh coconut I was going to put into the boil my dilemma is to toast the coconut or not before adding into the boil? Ill drop at least 12oz into secondary toasted. It's a extract with specialty grains thanks

    Update on the coconut chocolate stout! It came out pretty good, just cracked it open today... It's a nice dry stout with a hit of coconut and a nice light smell of chocolate.     So my next beer is going to be a extract with specialty grains coconut porter, I want a HUGE coconut flavor in the beer, can I use a can of coconut creme or coconut milk at flameout or during boil to help enhance the coconut flavor? I would then add the organic toasted coconut during secondary.

    Sween, I don't enjoy the smell or taste (long story) of piss so I'm gonna stick with the toasted coconut flakes and maybe extract at the secondary. Thanks for your advice!

    Thanks everyone for the input! I think with the right specialty grains picked for my 6lbs of wheat malt syrup it seems like it will develop a great mouthfeel, I might have to do two 2 1/2 gallon batches one with maltrodextrin and one without and see which I prefer more
