    Quantum of Solace

I agree to a point. The absurd gadgets have always been a part of Bond movies. Certain items that come to mind are the jet pack in Thunderball, the rocket cigarettes in You Only Lice Twice, the Crocodile in Octo*****, and many more. It really isn't a Bond movie without some insane gadget.

    Quantum of Solace

I'm a huge fan of Bond movies, but I really didn't like this one. I read an article that the stunt coordinator is the same guy that did the last 2 Bourne movies, which makes sense watching the action scenes. It just really didn't play out like a Bond movie. It played more like a Bourne movie...

    Best Drunk Food?

Yeah, Jim's is definitely expensive. I prefer Louie's for a few slime dogs, curly q fries, and a chocolate shake. Greatest thing at 4:30am. Garbage plates are always good too, but you can't beat the ones from Nick Tahoe's.

    So... who's been laid off?

I'm there with you. I just got laid off for the second time last week. Mine was by the same company. My old company went out of business in Feb. They then got bought out, and I got re-hired. now the new company just went out of business. Why can't this happen during golf season?

    Calling all Linux users...need help

Okay, so the partition went easy, and Mandriva installed extremely easy. It took me all of 15 min to get everything set up. I'll have to play around with it for a while to see if I really like it or not.

    Calling all Linux users...need help

I have a 200gb drive currently. It is partitioned, but the partition currently has the backup data on it. When I boot to install, it should ask if I want to create another partition, or will it try to use the current partition?

    Calling all Linux users...need help

Okay, quick back story. Over the weekend I had some computer issues, and I decided to re-format my computer (I was really hungover and it seemed like the easiest option at the time). I've been a Windows user, and I am fairly computer savvy. I just got my hands on a copy of Mandriva 2009, and I'd...

    Movie quotes: keep it going

Greenly: "He hits the guy with the bandages around his head first. Why, because he's smaaaart (thick Boston accent). He knows the guy with the bandages around his a$$ ain't going no where. He's going fecking no where. Where you going? No where, that's right."

    [RANT] Unruly Dogs Off-Leash

How about pepper spray in the convenience of a projectile. PepperBall Technologies, Incorporated | Home The police around here have started using this stuff. Hit the dogs before they even get close to you.

It's Friday, what have you learned this week (ed. 08/22/2008)

Isn't that a quote from one of Dave Attell's stand up shows?

    The ultimate BMC pyramid

I did this once in college. I wish I could find the picture. It was a 10 x 10 base. We got near the top where it was 3 x 3, and we were just so drunk, that someone slammed a can on the top and the whole thing started falling down. Stupid us, we had the thing on a table near the stairs (I lived...

Who's got tips for a first time tiler?

Flexbond is mortar. You are talking about a product like Red Guard correct? It is a liquid, kind of looks like slime. When it dries, it will be like a laytex layer on your concrete. Be careful when speading your thinset on that stuff, it can tear. Good luck. I hope everything comes out well for...

Who's got tips for a first time tiler?

Installing a wood subfloor on a concrete slab is not needed, and is very expensive when ceramic tile is considered. Just a brief history lesson with tiling in the US, tiles were traditionally installed on a concrete slab. If any of you have those old, white, hexagon mosaic tiles in your...

Who's got tips for a first time tiler?

Sorry, one more thing :cross: If you are really worried about a vapor barried, you can purchase a liquid vapor barrier at the depot or lowe's. The depot sells stuff called Red Gaurd. It is like slime when you roll it on (just use a paint roller), and it will dry like laytex. You can tile...

Who's got tips for a first time tiler?

Okay, I feel like I should chime in here... About the subfloor thing, do NOT try and use wood, especially in a basement. Tile and grout cracks when there is movement in the subfloor. When the wood swells and shrinks with the seasons, it will force your tile to go with it, therefore cracking...

    Back in the saddle again

Well, in my last post I told you guys that I was just layed off. As it turns out, my company was bought by another company, and they are keeping the process intact. I was called up yesterday because they still need a sales staff, and I had the best numbers and the best relationships with...

What do you do for a living?

Well, I was going to post here and talk about my job, but everyone was rif'd today. They let absolutely everyone go, except the president, vp of sales, and another manager. So unfortunately I'm now unemployed. This is the first time I have been let go in any position I had. I worked in a sales...

    &^$% code enforcement

I really can't think of many houses that don't have some sort of garden in the front. A few shrubs, some flowers. It's not like we're talking about a corn field here.
