    How many BTUs to boil 14 galons of wort

    I have decided to start doing bigger batches. I have a huge brew pot that should be able to accomodate 18 gallons. I would like to do a 14 gal batch of EdWorts kolsch. 1) Will I have sufficient BTUs using the standard Turkey fryer ( 55k BTU ) to boil? I could do a dry run with just water...

    Bottleing question

    I have been drinking so Sierra Nevada Pale ale as I rebuild my homebrew stock. These bottles have treads like twist offs, however they are capped with a non twist cap. I am assuming that I can use these as they come from the brewery with a standard cap... but then I see what assuming has done...

    Hops in fermenter

    I just finished my first AG brew ( IPA ). I have noticed that quite a few hops ended up in the fermenter. Should I take them out via a sanitized spoon? I am afraid they will clog the vent hole and cause problems.
