GF wort tastes like hard cider

Thanks all...I did in fact move it to a secondary as a last ditch.....a week in and it tastes less like hard cider.....If it was acetobactor I assume it just would have continued to get worse or stay the same but not get a little better, right? I am just going to leave it be for a while and see...

GF wort tastes like hard cider

Well guys, I am at a real loss here. I brewed up a GF with a similar recipe to McGee's.....it is about 2-3 weeks fermenting, just checked the gravity (1.010) and took a swig......Egads, it is SO sharp, almost like hard cider....In fact it has gotten sharper as time has gone on, not...

    Emma's ale hop addition?

Hello friends- I have Emma's Ale from NB ready to roll (recipe as follows).. Many reviews noted that it could stand a wee bit more hops so I bought some Kent Goldings. Would this be a good add? And if so, at what point would you add it? (or dry hop) I don't want to hop bomb it, but I don't love...

    Belgian dubbel advice

@ Maynard...not long clearly. Yes, I realize it will be heavier not carbonated. I was just confused how it tasted so fantastic at week two when I switched it to secondary and now (at week 3) it actually tastes sweeter.....I believe it was around the 1.020 mark when I moved it, without looking...

    Belgian dubbel advice

Hello my darling brew buddies... Put up a Belgian Dubbel three weeks agao (MoreBeer.com extract kit)....At 2 weeks I put it in secondary and stole some, while a bit sweet of course...it still tasted amazing. Now a week later (total 3 weeks in) I stole some, because that is what I do...

Fermentation restarted at week mark or a bug?

Safbrew 58 :-) and others noted OG 1.053 and FG 1.010 so I feel good about that anyway, pretty on target there

Fermentation restarted at week mark or a bug?

Thanks for the good words guys....As for the yeast, Safbrew (55 I think) and boy oh boy DID it ever take off right from the start, it was a swirling bubbling centrifuge for about 12 hours and I was honestly in a panic to get er' to cool down, the self generated heat from the yeasties was a...

Fermentation restarted at week mark or a bug?

Brewing a Lefse (Northern Brewer)...A week in carboy and fermentation still going on albeit slowly up until yesterday, only a bubble burp once every 30 seconds or so...anyway, I took a hydro reading yesterday and it is definitely lower than OG but today the beer seems to have a slightly foamy...
