Belgian Strong Ale - critique needed stat!

This turned out to be pretty darn good. I'm trying my first bottle today and I'm very pleased with the result. I'd make it again and wouldn't change much. Maybe a little more hops and specialty grains, but not much. The special B wasn't as prominent as I thought it was going to be. The...

    Coconut Cherry Chocolate Milk Stout

Thanks! I was prepared to fail, but was pleasantly surprised with the result. :ban:

    Coconut Cherry Chocolate Milk Stout

Too late to edit the OP, but I also added 3 tablespoons of Saigon cinnamon to the secondary and I can taste it, but not strongly.

Dogfish Head Black & Blue Recipe?

Back and Blue is one of the prettiest smelling beers I've ever had. Tastes great too.

    Coconut Cherry Chocolate Milk Stout

I'm sorry Sir, I didn't see this post until today. You're probably a fine person, but I'm not ready to trade brews at this time. Please don't be offended by that. Nothing personal. :mug: I did try the carbonated version today and I'm pretty happy with the result. I was worried because at no...

What is your favorite Sour Ale?

I prefer "regular" Rodenbach to the Gran Cru La Roja is almost like drinking a marinade. Not a good starter sour.

    I think it's official, I've become a beer snob.

It's very common. Here is an example of drunk conversations with Bros. Bro: Wait...you don't like the taste of Budweiser? It's the King of Beers, bro. Sack up and stop being such a beer snob. Me: I can drink it, but I really don't like the taste of that beer. Bro: Pfft...

Worse than the beer snob is the beer moron who calls you a beer snob simply because you don't like the taste of his favorite cheap beer.

    Thoughts on Peanut Butter

If it was my batch, I'd try using crushed roasted peanuts in the secondary.

What type of beer is heineken, so I can stay away

I saw it on TV a few years ago, but can't remember what show it was. Something like "how it's made" on the History channel. The brewery had huge UV lamps and dosed the beer with intense UV to skunk it a little. I can't remember the brewery. I'm not saying that Heineken skunks it at the...

What type of beer is heineken, so I can stay away

Several beers are skunked on purpose with UV lights or sunlight. I assume Heineken is one of them since every one I've ever had is skunked to the same degree.

    Sad Banana Ale

I vote for putting the bananas in the secondary or in the primary after fermentation is mostly complete. Sad Banana Ale? Well, I guess it sounds better than Old Mr. Roasty Pants Porter or whatever you called that beer. :)

Belgian Strong Ale - critique needed stat!

Transferred to a secondary after 2.5weeks. I think I'm going to let it age for 2-4 weeks in the secondary before bottling. FG was 1.012. ABV 7.5% It smelled great. Pears from the yeast, floral hops, raisin and caramel. It tasted pretty good too. I think this will be a good beer eventually.
