iBrewMaster 2 to Brewfather batch converter now available

Ugh, I haven’t brewed in about ten months due to life and children getting in the way… so I missed this whole memo on iBrewMaster2 no longer working! major bummer, lots of recipes stashed in there.

    So confused about kegging...

As you can see by the variety of replies, there is no "right" way, play around and find the way that works best for you. Personally, I've had far better luck and consistency with the "set it and forget it." Once I have a tap available, the keg goes into the keezer at serving pressure (about...

    problem carbonating

Do you have them at room temp? If you put them straight into the fridge the yeast I'll go to sleep and not eat the sugars. That should be plenty of sugar, 2 weeks isn't much time, put them somewhere out of sight and forget about it for another 10 days.

    The last straw bottle filler

I'm still a bit skittish and would like to see a few more reviews before I pull the trigger. I really don't have many issues with my cheap home made racking cane-picnic tap-rubber stopper bottling system that I and so many others use, but if this works as well as the manufacturer claims...

    Portable water heater?

I've had that thought as well, though it has the obvious disadvantage of having to set everything up the day before. Since upgrading to a bigger automated system, I've been thrilled with almost everything except for prep time... Just takes forever to get the bigger volume of water up to...

    Portable water heater?

Fair point, the flow rate would definitely leave a lot to be desire. Burner would be going under the kettles while filling, so it would be less than 40 minutes to reach temps, but with that low of a flow rate it isn't likely worth the investment for this purpose...

    Portable water heater?

I've seen in brought up in some older threads, but I haven't heard of anyone actually using a portable propane water heater, like a camping shower, to pre-heat strike water or HLT water. Something like this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001J4AU2E/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 Anybody ever use...

    The last straw bottle filler

I'm awfully tempted to pull the trigger on this new Last Straw contraption, but I've only seen one "real world" review and I hate being a guinea pig.... Seems to eliminate some of the issues that have been keeping me from getting a Beer Gun; ease of cleaning, single hand operation, comes with...

Ball lock posts won't work with quick disconnect!

Thanks for the tip on the poppets.... I believe this was the problem. I didn't end up having to replace them, but I kind of just "played" with the poppets for a bit and all four rebuilds started to work... I had wrench in hand prepared for another frustrating hour of wrestling with them, but...

Ball lock posts won't work with quick disconnect!

No, it's not a liquid post. It has the grooves and the more subtle "bump" for the QD like all my other ball locks. I'll disassemble tonight and see if the springs could be faulty, or if I see anything else suspicious. Lame.

Ball lock posts won't work with quick disconnect!

I am currently having the same problem as the OP... I just converted 4 pin lock kegs using the conversion kit from Adventures in Homebrewing. None of the "in" posts will take the gas QD. I've been kegging for years so I thought I had a solution for everything, but this one is baffling me...

Pennsylvania Kal Clone Electric Brewery. Complete

Add me to the list of "if only I was closer and had more money." Really impressive build man, that's got to be painful to part with.

Looking for quick & cheap CO2 rig

Those little co2 cartridge shooters are super easy and convenient, but they're also made out if really cheap flimsy plastic. I had mine break in the middle of a bachelor party in Tahoe this past weekend, bad timing! Closest HBS was an hour away, so a few of us were able to piece the broken...

    Coleman 70qt extreme cooler?

+1 to YouTube, sometimes it helps to see it done rather that read the steps. For water volume, if you don't use a calculator, a rough way to figure it out is mash with 1.2 quarts per pound of grain (or whatever ratio you decide to use), take that total volume and divide it by half for grain...

    Portable igloo cooler kegerator

I made a trip to Lowes this morning to pick up the Coleman everyone's been talking about. It took some Tetris-playing with the ball lock connects and the beer line, had to get them to line up with the divots in the lid, but I got it to close with my 3 gallon kegs. If a gas line was attached it...
