Recipe Opinion Please! - (SN Summerfest clone)

Boy, do I feel dumb. Okay maybe not Summerfest, but how 'bout as a crisp tasting pale ale. I was planning on using nottingham yeast. I'm just trying to clear out the freezer. I've got a ton of styrian goldings and have never brewed with them.

Can anyone put their seal of approval on this recipe, please. I'm looking for something similar to Sierra Nevada's Summerfest. I really have no idea if I'm on the right track. Any advice? Amount Item Type % or IBU 9.00 lb Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) Grain 81.82 % 1.00 lb...

    White fuzzy substance on rhizome

I wish that it did. This stuff looks like cobwebs except white. I just gave them a good cleaning and planted them anyway. We'll see what happens.:mug:

    White fuzzy substance on rhizome

I just received four rhizomes from Freshops today and both of my Cascades have this white fuzzy stuff on them. Is this some type of mold or disease? The willamette and centennial smell fresh but the cascade smells different...not bad but different. Any thoughts?

    Hell y'all from Atlanta

Welcome from Canton! I too am from Ft. Lauderdale. Moved here when I was 4. As for a LHBS I go to Brew Depot in Alpharetta. It's a nice, clean store with a helpful staff. Good luck!

CAUTION!! Don't make the same mistake.

Judging how the day was going prior to the commencement of the my second AG brew session, I should have known to double check everything just in case. In my haste to get going, I forgot to check the hose clamps on my wort chiller. So, after the boil, in goes the chiller and I wait until it is...

Gonna be growing hops this year!!!

Thanks for the input abracadabra. Holly Springs is about 30 miles north of Atlanta off 575. I plan on using rain barrels for the majority of the watering of my hops because I think it's better for them. I also plan on using one planter per vine about 27 cu ft of garden soil instead of our...

    Heavy Seas Loose cannon IPA

Thanks for the tip Pseudochef! At least now I know the basic ingredients in the recipe. Does anybody know of a way to get from 3 lbs per barrel to about a 6.5 to 7 gallon boil?

    Heavy Seas Loose cannon IPA

Without a doubt the DFH 60 is one of the best!!! I saw a recipe for it on this forum somewhere...will be brewing it soon, hopefully! I have a 4-pack of DFH 90 min in the fridge right now. I have to go...it's calling for me!

    Heavy Seas Loose cannon IPA

Has anyone had this before? I tried it because I'm a fan of all things IPA...it is Awesome! I've never had anything like it. It's incredibly floral! I'm curious if anybody else has tried it and what their reaction was. I'd love to try to recreate the recipe but I'm not sure where to start.:mug:

    Finally! 1st AG

Finally got around to doing my first AG. Everything went well except for a stuck sparge 5 min in. I hit my original gravity and temps. All in all, it took about 4 hours start to finish. It was heck of a lot of fun and much more rewarding than extract brewing! Hopefully, the fermentation...

Gonna be growing hops this year!!!

Hey everybody! I'll be attempting to grow my own hops this year and I'm looking for suggestions/input/advice from you guys. I think I'm going to grow 3-4 different vines. I'll probably grow 1 cascade and 1 amarillo. I'm can't decide on what else to grow. I'm looking for a good balance of...
