Amping up AK47 Pale Mild recipe?

I'm actually brewing this today and I'm a little nervous using that much sugar in such a small grain bill. When I put the recipe into beer smith the est og was 1.039 and according to the recipe it should be around 1.035 I don't want to deviate from the recipe, but should I scale back on the...

Does anyone else think Sam Adam's beer sucks

I routinely but the mix 12 whenever there is a new one out. I'm still relatively new to craft beers but I find it's an easy, convenient way to learn about the styles. After I try one for the first time and have my own opinion of it I'll look it up on rate beer and beer advocate to see how good...

Mild or bitter? That is the question

I would like to brew one of these to use as a yeast starter for future brews. I bottle condition and I don't want to tie up too many bottles that will need to be stored for a while. My question to you all is which style would reach its peak flavor sooner? Will be using wlp007 Thanks in...

A new, insidious threat to our society......

Valid point about our best athletes not playing soccer. If that were the case the US would be a force but there is no money in the domestic game (few exceptions) Soccer has its boring games and really exciting games just like every other sport but I'm sure we can all agree hipsters do suck and...

    Stuck fermentation fix?

even very poor aeration should've dropped it more than 7 points, i think u have another problem going on. i would highly aerate a starter and pitch that tho vs aerating your beer. Thanks I'll do that. curious to know if you have any idea what may have caused this to better prepare my next batch

    Stuck fermentation fix?

I have pale ale stuck at 1.040 (1.047sg) 3 weeks in, thanks to the help of people on this forum have determined that poor aeraton is the most likely culprit. If I were to rack to secondary, aerate, and repitch would this start fermentation again or would doing so cause more damage? Thanks

    Stuck fermentation

Good morning people, I brewed up a 5 gal batch of Biermunchers centennial blonde last Tuesday and the gravity has been stuck at 1.020 since Friday. I used a rehydrated packet of Nottingham fermenting in the high fifties and my og was 1.049. I've done this recipe before and the gravity was down...

    Pitching harvested yeast

Hi all, I'm interested in harvesting yeast to save a few bucks. The process seems fairly straight forward but my question is after I harvest how much of that yeast would go into the next batch with a 1.050-1.060 og? Is over pitching a possibility? And how long is said yeast viable? Thanks in advance
