    Keg Beer with Weird Taste?

I bought a pony keg of Miller Lite (I know I know...I just didn't want to waste good homebrew on my friends that just wanted to get wasted) Super Bowl weekend, which was February 5th. First off, I'm aware that this could be getting an off taste now because I've had it for 3 months. However, I...

    Cleaning Plastic Fermenting Bucket

Well, after brewing four different times (3 beer, 1 cider), my fermenting bucket still smells like some of my brews, even after heavy cleaning (hot water, StarSan, etc. My buckets are getting what are I hope are not permanent stains. My question: is there a good way for me to get the smells...

    Suggestions wanted for lagering

To my knowledge, I don't have the ability to do any lagering because I do not have the ability to ferment at lager temperatures. What are my options if I'm wanting to do a lager, if I have any options at all? I only have the ability to ferment at ale temps currently.

    Secondary Ferm in Corny Keg??

I've heard of people using corny kegs as a secondary fermenter... I'm curious, what are the advantages and disadvantages to this???

    Refrigerator Issue...Help Wanted

I've got a refrigerator (top freezer style) that is not functioning as it should, and I haven't had any luck figuring out what the issue is. Originally this was to be my kegerator, but instead I bought another larger fridge and converted it instead. In a perfect world, I would just get a...

    Looking for Ferrules

I know that MoreBeer.com sells ferrules, but I wondered if there's a cheaper route for me to go...they were going to charge me like $12 for ground shipping and I was only buying 2 ferrules. Can anybody give me some suggestions??? I'm buying the ferrules for my own customer made tap...

    Creating Tap Handle Labels

Can someone recommend a good way for me to design some labels for custom made tap handles?? I ask because I don't have PhotoShop. I'm good with a computer, but I've never done any kind of image editing or such, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

    Advice on brewing small batches...?

So I'm getting married in July, and I was thinking about what I would get my groomsmen for the wedding. Here's my thoughts...I would brew each one of them some of their favorite kind of beer (IPA, Belgian Wheat, Amber, etc.), give them anywhere from 12-24 bottles of it, and also build them...

    Cider Won't Carbonate?!

I put together a cider about 4 weeks ago and just kegged it on Wednesday night. To put it into perspective, it basically just consisted of apple juice, sugar, water, and honey (to increase the ABV). After 4 weeks of fermenting, I back-sweetened it with 2 cans of apple juice concentrate and...

    Adding Honey To Increase ABV

My LHBS gave me some info on how to make cider. In there info it said that honey could be added to the cider at the beginning of the primary fermentation to increase the alcohol content, and it had a table that laid out how much the alcohol would increase depending on how much honey was added...

Beer Styles/Types to brew right NOW

I'm fairly new to brewing and basically I'm going to brew my next batch probably within the next 3-4 weeks or so. Here's my question... If I'm going to brew towards the end of January, what kind of beer should I do? I guess what I'm looking for are recommendations...based on the season, when...

    Carbonation Help Wanted

With my first two batches of home brew, I bottled 12 of each and kegged the rest. Since I was splitting up the batches, it would've been difficult for me to measure out the proper amount of priming sugar for just 12 bottles. Because of that, I went with Brewer's Best conditioning tablets. Here's...

    First Cider Attempt....here goes nothin

Well on Sunday I whipped up my first batch of cider and now I'm just trying to patiently wait for it to ferment. Looking here on the forums, I found a lot of good ideas about what kinds of ingredients to use and such, but I wanted to keep my first one pretty basic. That way, if I screw it up...

    Air Lock Not Fitting Right?

Rookie brewer here... I fermented my first two batches using a 6.5 gallon bucket that a friend lent to me from his original brewing equipment. Never had any issues with it at all. However, on Sunday I did a batch of cider and noticed today that I wasn't getting ANY activity at all in the air...

    Wheat Beer smells weird

So I brewed a wheat beer and started fermenting on 11/13. I just opened it up to transfer it over to my secondary fermenter. At first, it actually smells really good. However, it almost has some sort of an "after smell" that kind of burns your nose a little. Is that normal?!?! I'm going to go...

    Cider....bottle or keg?

If I decide to brew a cider, should I bottle or keg it? Honestly, it doesn't matter one way or the other. I have a kegerator so I'm not short on room for a 5 gallon corny. Is it the same with kegging a beer...force carbonate?

    Issue with Bottling???

On Saturday I bottled my first batch of homebrew, a red ale. I didn't want to bottle all of it because I have a kegerator, so I only bottled 12 and kegged the rest. Obviously the keg was force carbonated. However, I used Brewer's Best Carbonation Tablets for the bottles. I put 4 tablets in...

    Interested in doing a Graff

I've picked up a recipe on here for a Graff that I'd really like to give a try. However, the recipe is incomplete, in my opinion. Anybody think they could help me out? I've only brewed two beers so far, both extract (which I would prefer to stick with for right now). So any help would be greatly...
