    Dry Hopping?

    I racked an IPA to secondary today and it is in a 6gal glass carboy. How is a good way to dry hop? Should I just drop the pellets right in it or tie a hop bag to a string? I need some help.

    White specks in secondary

    There are white specks on top of my beer. I was going to bottle today but I'm not sure if it got infected. It is hard to tell if they are tiny bubbles or not. Is it safe to drink or should I chalk it up as a bad batch and toss it?

    Emergency

    I do not have a blowoff hose on my 6.5 gal primary. I put it in there yesturday and now the foam is bubbling through my airlock. What can I do?? I hasn't gone over yet but I don't want to go to bed and have it over flow

    specific gravity question

    I was following a recipe for a steemer with some variations and the specific gravity was way higher than stated in the book. The only thing I did off the recipe was add an additional 0.5lb. of extract. I had an O.G. of 1.101 at 73 degrees and the book called for 1.068. How can I be that far off?
