Dry yeast life in the fridge?

Does it expire/die? I bought about 20 packs of ec1118 and stuck them in the butter shelf in the fridge, but it's been a couple months. How long will they be viable?

    Grape juice wine

I have been on a slight rampage of fermenting anything I can get my hands on. Most recently, I bought some grape juice from costco, put it in a 1ga carboy, 2lb sugar, ec1118 yeast, nutrients on day 2-4-6. It's been a month now, fermentation is still hanging on but basically done. I haven't...

Strange results from a known good recipe

Last year I was feeling lazy. I threw 2lb brown sugar, 1 cinnemon stick, 4 cloves into the 1gal carboy, filled with apple juice from costco, ec1118 yeast. It sat for 2 weeks until the bubbles stopped. I bottled it, and drank it. And it was damned good. I've since repeated this 4 times, and and...

    Hey from PA

In rural PA, doing the self sufficiency thing raising goats and chickens, plants a good amount of food, off grid power. Why not throw booze into the ring. I do wines and meads, my focus being meads since I can harvest honey from the bee's. I've done about a dozen or so batches now with good...
