    Has something gone wrong with this scoby

    I've never seen this when brewing but i've brewed less than 10 times and the last time was about 2 years ago. New scoby now, and first, this strange brain/umbilical looking thing has emerged. Also the top has formed a murky layer. The scoby remains floating sideways in the middle of the jar...
