    Rusted bottle caps

I'm getting ready to bottle my IPA on Thursday. I looked at my leftover bottle caps from my last brew and they have seemed to rust between now and then. I soaked them in vinegar for about two hours, and then let them sit in rubbing alcohol for sanitation. I am using a clean wire brush to scrap...

Sour taste on my last bottled beers.

Hey guys. I bottled my beer today, and noticed something. I tasted the beer at the beginning, and tasted great. However, when I got to the bottom of my bottling bucket, I noticed a sour aroma and taste in it that wasn't there at the beginning. Is there a certain reason why? Only my second brew...

Need an answer! Carboy spewing during fermentation.

Hey everyone, I came home to my Carboy spewing over like this: It's about 24 hours after brewing it and putting it in the Carboy. Any ideas on what causes this, as well as if it is a bad sign or anything? This is my second brew, and my first didn't do this. Thanks!

Brewing a Rye Beer. Problems of Rye clumping?

Hey guys, I'm considering my next brew to be a Rye Brown spiced with Cinnamon and Brown Sugar. However, I've heard that Rye can be a pain due to the rye wanting to clump. If this is true, does anyone have an effective method to work through this? I'm planning to use partial mash, as I don't...

    Transferring to a secondary

Hey guys I'm new to home brewing. In fact the beer I have brewed is my first ever. I brewed a coffee porter on Saturday 1/10/15. It's been in my primary until yesterday, where I transferred it to my secondary after adding the coffee to it. I cold brewed the coffee via French press and let it...
