    Temperature for grain? Have to be exact?

    I just started my boil with my grain in the steeping bag and the recipe calls to stop the boil at160°F. I actually stopped the boil around 150°F. What do you think about that?

    Why is my ABV so low?

    I just got done with a batch of American Brown ale. My OG was 1.040. I checked my FG about two weeks after being in the fermenter and it was 1.010.     Santized longevity

    I made a batch of brew one month ago and after the whole process I immediately cleaned and sanitized all of my equipment. I kept all my sanitized equipment sealed and in a bucket. If I want to brew again next week, do you think I need to clean and sanitize all of my equipment again?again?

    What is up with my carbonation?

    It has been 2 1/2 weeks since I bottled my California steam beer. It still is pretty flat and has only a tiny hiss when I cracked the cap. It tastes that same as it did five days ago. Is my brew busted? How much longer should I wait? Is there anything else I can do to revive it?
