    Is this a normal final gravity for extract?

    I brewed a milk stout extract kit 14 days ago. Starting gravity was 1.055 right now it is at 1.024 and hasn't moved in over a week. It has a pound of lactose in it so it's really sitting around 1.016? I read that extracts tend to end up with high final gravity. So is this normal, safe to bottle...

    I'm new to home brewing in general and had a question involving preservatives. I was at a local orchard today and bought some raw unfiltered cider from their cider mill store. It tastes amazing and they sell it in 1 gallon glass carboys so it's just begging to get a stopper and airlock thrown...

    Darn

    My starter kit just got delivered about an hour ago and is missing the hydrometer. I had planned on brewing tomorrow too. Oh well first ever brew session will have to wait until next week, time for a beer. :mug:
