Need advice - had a hiccup with bottling!!

Ok - so tonight I planned on bottling. I transferred priming sugar and wort to my bottling bucket. I got my bottles ready and started to bottle. But the valve I use to fill is plugged. Or broken. I've done all I can and can't get anything to flow through it. I don't have another way to bottle...

13 days of dry hop too long for Zombie Dust clone?

I really did not plan well. I have a ZD clone in the fermenter. And when it comes time to dry hop I'll be out of town at Disney World drinking Jai Alai! Now - I can just leave it in the primary a week longer and have a buddy swing by and dry hop for me 7 days before we return. Or .. I can dry...

I forgot a hop addition in the boil ..

Brewing a zombie dust clone (partial mash). The recipe called for: (All citra) A) .5 oz at beginning of boil (60mins) B) 1 oz (20 mins remaining) C) 1 oz (10 mins remaining, along with malt syrup and DME) D) 1 oz (5 mins remaining) E) 1.5 oz (end) F) 3 oz dry hop 2 weeks into...

Going with single stage fermentation this time - quick question

I'm brewing an IPA (with citra). The recipe calls for 2 stage fermentation, but I may only do 1 this time. It calls for 1-2 weeks in primary, 1-2 weeks in secondary and also dry hop 3oz of citra 1-2 weeks before bottling (I'm presuming that can be concurrent). So tell me if this will be ok - 2...

    No bubbles in airlock?

I've used the search feature here and found some answers, but thought I'd post just the same as I haven't found the exact scenario. I'm brewing a big IPA (kind of a HT clone) using Vermont Ale Yeast. For the first time I did a 2 stage yeast starter (using a stir plate). Both stages I cooled and...

Off The Topper recipe, with oak???

Next week I'm brewing NB's Off The Topper recipe. I just got to thinking about how that brew might taste with a little oak aging. So my question is - if this is a dumb idea that should be forgotten please tell me. But if it's an Ok idea and you were going to do it, how would you? I've never used...

Help! Is my problem a result of fermenting temps??

The last 2 batches I've brewed have just come out, well .. not very good. I've been through the whole process in my head and I'm wondering if my problem is my fermenting temps. Both brews were partial mash kits, one from AHB the other from NB. Both were fairly straightforward. I was extremely...

    Need some quick fermenting advice

Hi. I just brewed an IPA (big IPA, sort of an east coast style with a ton of hops, and dual dry hop additions). I brewed it on Tuesday Jan 13. My intentions were to brew 10 days, dry hop 4. Go to secondary for 10 days, dry hop for 4. Bottle a week or so later. However, I just discovered I'm...

Ok - So what did I do wrong??

Hi. I've brewed 4 batches of beer now. The 1st was an extract IPA that came out very nice. The 2nd was a mini-mash red ale. This is where my problem is. My gravities were dead on (based on the kit instructions). But basically it really just tasted bad. I know "bad" is subjective, but I'm not...

    Hops suggestion for Delirium clone?

Hi. I think my next brew will be a clone of Delirium Tremens. Austin Homebrew has a clone that I think I'll get. I really do enjoy Delirium, but for my own version I'd really like it to be a bit more bitter than the original. Granted it may not turn out well, but I'd like to try just for fun...
