Should I filter my homebrew why/why not?

I've been doing some research about filtering homebrew once it has finished fermenting. From what I've read it seems that if you filter you get beer that conditions faster, clearer, and can drink it quicker. What's everyones thoughts on filtering?

The sheet I used to brew my extra pale ale said the original gravity should have been 1.045. Does a final gravity of 1.008 sound about...

    Fermentation Time

Hey everybody, yesterday I brewed my first ale and was wondering how long it normally takes for fermentation to start. I added the Wyeast around 8:00pm CST yesterday. How long do you think it will be until I start to see signs of fermentation. Thanks!
