Thanks!!! My yeast should be OK then!!!! The ice didn't get too low into the jar that I had it in.

So I went to look at the harvested yeast that I had in the fridge and noticed that the top of it was frozen solid. The yeasties looked OK down below the frozen part, but I was wondering just how cold these little beasties could get and still function? Any ideas?????

Gonna rack some Boom Boom Vanilla to secondary. Possibly make an IPA - found a mightily hoppy recipe online using a bunch of Warrior, Chinook, Centennial, and Williamette. I LOVE HOPS!!!!

I'm bottling and I juast ran out of PBW. I'm gonna brew Monday, but I don't know what to use as a substitute.

Ok, I'm a bit sad now. I'm reading my May-June issue of Brew magazine, and they tell me that my crushed grains will only last a few weeks. My question is two fold: 1. Can my grains last longer if I seal them up real tight? (I'm an extract brewer so far with only 5 beers under my belt.)...

Is it bad to bring your kids with you to a BevMo? So many choices that I simply point them to the area of beers that I like and ask them for help. Otherwise I spend a good hour in the store. Sadly, I never leave without drooling upon myself.

Thanks for the help!!! Bottle cleaning is the biggest PIA of this whole process. So much for my dishwashing liquid and warm water. Is OxyClean that expensive?

Well, I like to reuse old bottles because it's cost effective. (Usually my old bottles that I clean the heck out of.) BUT..... Some companies use adheisive on their labels that I can't even get off with a good soak in warm water. ANY IDEAS?????
