    Sad Day for My Bike

Now that my wife is about to give birth to our son I made a needed, yet sad deal. (Almost a deal with the devil.) I agreed to sell my motorcycle. It was a beautiful grey and white 2005 Honda VT7500 totally sotck. Garage kept with very low mileage. :( She is due to be induced tomorrow and...

When you've waited for your beer

My Russian/Stout experiment is still aging. After a few beers it tastes down right wonderful, but as a first beer it's not sooooooooooo good. I keep pawning it off on friends who seem to like it - yet most will drink free beer. Even thought I could use the bottles I just don't have the...

    Serving Etiquette

If your tongue and mouth are at about 98 degrees or so, And your glass is about 75 degrees or so, And your beer is refrigerated at 40 degrees or so, Then the question should really be..... Did you like the beer you just consumed or NOT??? We ALL hopefully know the answer. :mug:

    Stone' Epic Ale 7-7-7

I think that they usually plan to empty their cellars several times a year. COMING UP AT STONE: STONE COMPANY STORE: KICK THAT KEG WEEK! MONDAY - SUNDAY, JULY 9th - 15th We're clearing out our archives and over one week we’ll be putting keg after keg up for growler fills. As soon as we...

    Hoppiest IPA?

I'd use a light liquid extract. Remember that it is less concentrated than DME. A good rule of thumb is that one pound of mashed base grain yields about the same gravity as .7 lbs LME or about .575 lbs DME. Happy Brewing

    Stone' Epic Ale 7-7-7

I have an 05, 06, and now eleven 07's. So far my favorite has been 05. Nice malty and chocolatey dark with subtle alcohol hints. But then if it's Stone it's generally ALL GOOD!!! Had one of the 05s this past week and it didn't change much from what I remembered. Maybe the alchohol notes...

    Stone' Epic Ale 7-7-7

BevMo ships beer in California and Brown did me right by bringing my case of Epic Ale yesterday!!!! It's Stone's version of a Belgium on CRACK. They have combined the Saison and Golden Tripel styles very tastily - had one last night. So smooth - sooooooo mildly spicey - a bit hoppy too...

    Kits vs. recipe

Started at my LHBS not even knowing what to do, but kits looked boring. So I picked up a copy of Brew - the one with the 150 recipes - and went from there and did a Bear Republic clone as my first. I did one kit after that - the direction sheet that it came with has been priceless as far as a...

First time, no sanitizer, pee'd on it...

Gives a whole new idea to the concept of peeing in the shower. Hell, why use soap? In fact, why not just pee on your hands while you use the bathroom? It will at least save water. Oh, that link with the v@9inal yeast beer - it sure could drive the hb cost a bit for some.

    Dad's Approval On 7-7-07

I actually asked him if he was interested in seeing me brew my next batch, and he wholeheartedly said "YES"! Hey, one convert per family per year and my family will be brewing fools in no time.
