My kit did not come with instructions. Can someone help?

Hey Josh, I'm in Baton Rouge. Nice to see another Louisianian! I'm sure you've brewed by now, unless you decided to put it off until tomorrow. The only thing I'll add is this. I didn't read a lot about sanitizing in the replies, but it's really important. Anything pre-brew will get taken...

    Who are you?

OK...yeah...riiiiiiiiiight. Of cooooouuurse it was! Actually, isn't it funny what we'll do for a relationship? I learned to like mushrooms for a girl (and I still love them), I learned to play two different Merle Haggard songs for a girl (OK...I would have learned them anyway, I'm sure), and in...

    Nuclear Carboy??

And, another good one! Thanks. I'm leaning toward sanitizing the heck out if, brewing, and seeing what happens. Hey, may as well live dangerously, right? Besides, I'm pretty sure the guy who gave it to me used it as a fermenter before, and he doesn't glow. It just dawned on me that I ask him!

    Nuclear Carboy??

Thanks for the offer. I'll take you up on that if I get out that way!

    Nuclear Carboy??

Good info (from all of you, in fact, and some funny, too). I just wanted to mention to Runhard that I have a sister and brother-in-law in Buda, TX. Wow...small world!

    My brew Space.

The same is true for those of us in the Gulf Coast area. If I had a basement, it could only be about a foot deep before hitting the water table! I live in a 2 bedroom townhouse with precious little storage and no garage or covered parking. I brew in my very small kitchen. My beer ferments and...

    Woo Hoo

Hey, I just made my 100th post on another thread, and I suddenly became a Senior Member! Woo Hoo!!! :rockin: Just had to celebrate a little. Soon as I can spare a few bucks, I'll do the Gold Membership!

    Nuclear Carboy??

Thanks, Jim. I don't, right off hand. But I have a daughter taking Chemistry in high school right now. Her teacher may have one. I'll check!

    Nuclear Carboy??

OK, I finally got a carboy, thanks to a kind-hearted soul in the local brew club. Curious about the markings on it, I did a Google search for NRC M 3008 and the word Carboy. Some of the responses from Google had to do with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) use of carboys for disposal of...

    First taste from first brew

I've only got 12 of my first brew left, and every time I have one, it's better than the one before! My second brew was good, but not AS good as the first, after 3 weeks. I'm about to order a kit for my 3rd, right after I pay some bills. But congrats to Slowpoke on a first brew success!

    Carbonation Success

No, I add it to the bottling bucket and let the action of siphoning mix it.

    Carbonation Success

Thank you! I had a second bottle, just to be sure. Not as much carbonation as the one earlier, but more than the 2 last week. I think maybe I didn't cap some as tightly as others. Hmmmmmmmm.

    Explain That Name

I called my first batch (which was an American Pale Ale) Gunpowder Treason Ale because I bottled it on Nov. 5th (Gunpowder Plot Day, or Guy F a w k e s Day, in the U.K.). Sorry about the extra spaces, but the forum converted it to ****es when I spelled it all together. Go figure.

    Carbonation Success

Last week, I posted an update to a previous thread in which I expressed some disappointment that my clone of Pete's Wicked Ale was not well carbonated after 21 days in the bottle. I decided to wait another week and taste again. That was the magic week! The beer tasted good and had good color...
