    Choosing a good burner...

All good points in this string but something noone has touched on is natural gas. if you ever want to upgrade to NG then you will want some kind of banjo burner such as the blichmann or the one by bayou classic. the smaller burners like the SP10 are great for propane puting off about 150000...

BURNERS?? bayou classic SP10 and SQ14

I have the sp10 and love it. I actually have 2 of them running off of a 30psi regulator and they work great putting off enough heat to boil 10 gallons from ~70 in about 20 minutes in a keggle. the only way I would vote for the sq14's is if you ever plan on changing from propane to natural gas...

    The Perfect Brew Stand [Discussion]

I designed, bought all materials and then had my neighbor weld together my stand that I love. the HLT gravity feed to the MT then I have a pump for HERMS as well as another pump with a handy control box. I looked at the below thread in depth prior to putting it all together. This is works for...

Word of warning : Don't Leave Full CO2 Tanks in Hot Car!

MY GF got a full tank from a coworker and put it in her jeep for a couple hours while at work in AZ. Came out and the jeep was still full of CO2 and she had to let it air out for a few minutes before even getting in the vehicle. CO2 all released in a confined space like that can be deadly, if...

Show us your sculpture or brew rig

This stand has seen over 60 batches and is working great. This is the first time I ever got any pictures while we were actually brewing. This is during the mash of a 120 minute with 19 pounds of grains for a 5 gallon batch. I also included a closeup picture of the control panel that we...

    Just bottled...noticed bubbling. B-BOMBS??

If you're worried then put the bottles in the bathtub for the next couple weeks just in case they do explode and then chill (assuming it didn't explode) and test to see if it's over carbbed and recap if needed at that time

Comedy of F-ups - how bad did I screw up??

the BM clone won't really be a clone anymore but should still be a really good beer and for the IPA I would recommend tasting it after a couple weeks of fermentation and if need be add more hops, continue to do this for a couple weeks until it reaches something you would like to drink. Don't...

We no need no stinking beer gun...

my question is why not just take a 12 to 14" tube and wedge it in your tap spigot and use that instead of using a pick-nick faucet. I had been doing this for quite some time prior to finding this thread and it works great. I do plan on trying to find a stopper and threading my tube through it...

Did you stir in the priming sugar really well prior to transferring to bottles?

    Raspberry seeds...

the seeds should be fine whats more important is to have someone competent pouring your beers so that all the trub in the bottom of every bottle stays in the bottle and your guests don't drink it. but if they do it wouldn't be all bad or the end of the world, there would be no immediate effect...

    My single tier project

    Green bottles really that bad?

Don't know if you're aware but oxi clean gets the glue off in a matter of minutes if its a hot water & oxi mix, a bit longer if it's a cold mix and if you leave the bottles in too long the oxi clean could eventually etch the bottles and leave them looking dirty... fyi

Can my Carboy be too big?

when transferring into your keg post fermentation do you immediately put a bit of CO2 on it and pull the bleeder on top to push out all the O2? I'm always diligent to take a filled keg over to my CO2 setup and put about 30 to 35 psi on it right away to set the seals then bleed off some of the...
