    So glad this thread is up. Wanted to hear some creative ways to distinguish beers apart. Online labels are too expensive for me. I actually used wine shrinks for a couple of brews to identify them.

    Ok so the purpose of this thread was to not to get everyones opinion. It was more to see if anyone has ever had problems with using plastic. Doesn't seem to be the case so i think i will stick to my food grade plastic primary and glass secondary. Seems to me to be more a matter of preference...

    You want to cool the wort as fast as possible and pitch yeast to limit the possibility of contaminants or wild yeast getting to your wort and causing off flavors.

    Yea i have seen a lot of the arguments about it but what i have not heard are people saying, i have stopped using plastic because it ruined my beer or made me sick or anything like that. I was more interested in hearing if anyone has had these type of issues and thus stopped using plastic?

    Had anyone had issues with food grade plastic? Some of the old schoolers really advise against it. I use a plastic food grade for primary and glass carboy for secondary.

    Long night of bottling ahead

    Im just a newbie but talking with the man at the home-brew store told me that u don't want to boil the bottles because the ash used to make the bottles would break down from the heat and get into the beer. I havent researched this but it may be worth looking in to
