I already have 2000 watt 120 volt boilcoil and don't use a controller with it, if I get a 3750 watt coil will be able to use it without a controller or will it boil to violently. Was planing on putting it in/on a 44qt bayou classic.
Given if all numbers are the same,if my boil off is say 2 gallons a hour vr's 1 gallon would mash efficiency be better using 2 gallon a hour boil off. Since I'm using more water.
So you just pulled the bag out.Might want to stick with that. When I tried to drain with bag in cooler and no false bottom/bazooka it would not drain at all.
Thank's I will proly just go with what the calc tells me to use water wise and see what happens. Going to brew up a 2.5 ipa using 7 or 8 ounces of Citra.
I have put bag/basket in cold water grain in bag/basket in cold water and heated it up to mash temp did not notice any ill effects. As a matter a fact it was the best batch I have made to date.10% Citra IPA
Trying this tonight just started mashing at 152 going to let her sit all night I put two blankets and two heavy winter coats over kettle, will see what she's holding in the AM.
