Keezer: Mount Love Controller in Collar

Here's another shot showing the foam being sprayed. The pipe is there to get the extension cord from the wall to the controller and back to the freezer plug- easy mods if necessary. http://www.flickr.com/photos/25840136@N02/4287226458/ And with plastic duct material(to help prevent mold...

Keezer: Mount Love Controller in Collar

It's 1/4 inch MDF braced with 1x2s, and 2x4 bracing where the hinges will mount. I may start a new thread for it soon. It will be finished with gloss enamel to match the base, it's staying in the garage so I don't feel the need to go with wood finish.

Keezer: Mount Love Controller in Collar

I am building a new top for my keezer that includes the Love controller in the lid. I built an extra box on the inside and insulated it from the cold side. It's still in progree, am currently adding Bondo and smoothing out the joints and screws. Forgive me if the photo doesn't show up, I'm...

Primary Fermenting in a Corny Keg

I've got my first corney fermented batch as a hefe going right now, put 3-4 gallons in each of 3 corneys. I used an airlock attached to each gas QD, but one of them didnt properly engage the poppet and built up pressure. Just got to clean 3 gallons of wort out of my fermenting chamber because...

    Dented my Better Bottle!

meh, my first BB developed a crack on the bottom- fortunately while i was soaking it with cleanser instead of beer! My second BB already looks like it is developing hairline cracks in the same lower corner, I'm done with this plastic BS. I've never added hot water or wort to them, just lukewarm...

    Bottling Carbonated Wine

I also prefer glass, it's never too hard to drain a 12 pack of bottles and scrub the labels off. I let em sit in hot soapy water for a few minutes and the labels usually fall right off.

    Erlenmeyer Flask on Electric Stove

Borosilicate is lab glass. It is used under brutal conditions in the lab under direct flam and quenching cold. I have used my Erlenmyers just fine on my electric stove followed by ice baths in the sink with no worries. I wouldn't worry about it, adding a cast iron skillet will just slow down the...

    Home made peristaltic pumps

I just bought a load of homebrew gear from a guy getting out of the hobby, and one gem was this blue motor and gear thingy- a Little Giant LG-100 with motor and drivetrain. Here's a link to the pump on google, I will try to get some photos of the internals of the drive later. It's drive has two...

My Stirplate... Cheap and Easy Build...

Awesome, I looked around and found that I have nearly everything I need to get this rigged up and ready to go- cigar box for the case and an old Dell supplied the fan and magnets. The omnipresent box of electronics junk provided a power supply, switch and wire. The only thing I need to get is a...

Here's a new use for your shop vac

That's a great idea. Have you thought about using that to transfer from the secondary to a keg? I could see it working by removing the gas in post and attaching the vinyl tube directly to the gas threads. Also, I currently use a march pump and I'd say it takes about 25 minutes to pump a 10...

Help! Exhaust fans for my indoor propane brewing (problems with CO) and other ideas

For starters, I think you have your priorities mixed up. I would care a lot more about me getting enough O2 than the burner. I would try to mount a fan in that broken window(maybe halfway up) that would pull air out of the room. I'm lucky enough to be able to use my garage and just roll my...
