Started my single vessel brewing system

Thanks for the input. You can't even see the welds in the pics because it has been ground out. All your seeing is the colour from where the metal heated up where I welded. Btw I am an experienced welder I have been welding for 10 years and make these: every day. Ever heard of Oskar Blues...

Started my single vessel brewing system

I'll probably make it with a tri-clamp connection so after I drain out into the wort chiller then pump back in and close a valve on the drain then invert it then I can clamp the pressure relief valve onto the tri-clamp that's connected to the drain. www.SpecificMechanical.com

Ya that's pretty much it.. I just thought of it since I don't have a lot of space. I'll be using one of the pressure release valves from my work. www.SpecificMechanical.com

Started my single vessel brewing system

I'm heating it with propane then I bolt the cone on the top of kettle/mash then it spins upside down on arms to become a conical fermenter www.SpecificMechanical.com

Thanks.. I have a bit more buffing to do.. Mostly just ornamental cause I already have it at 150 grit in the bigger portion of the cone and 240 in the smaller portion (it's actually 3 sections of cone welded together) www.SpecificMechanical.com

    Racking port location

I'm currently fabricating a ss fermenter and am wondering if there's an equation for the location of the racking port or if it's just around the centre of the cone. Thanks www.SpecificMechanical.com

    Crazy yeast bag idea?

I also got a nice 3' section of 1/2" glass tubing for free since they cut it too short for any of the tanks at work.

    Crazy yeast bag idea?

Ya I'm making a jacket that just goes from top to the bottom on the tank. Not the cone though

    Crazy yeast bag idea?

I know it's taking me a long time but I'm back to it today after a long laser eye surgery recovery. Got the cone cut into a 42" x 42" square ready to circle shear then cut the chord (the pie section) out and roll it into a cone.. I'll take more pics along the way

    Unsanitary Stainless Weld?

I weld brewing systems every day and this is burn through caused by not purging the backside of the weld. I wouldn't do anything to it cause you could open up pinholes if you grind it and either way it'll rust. Unless you ground it then welded over the spot you ground down. I've seen plenty of...

    Crazy yeast bag idea?

Good idea.. Should I make a coil or make a jacket around the tank for cold water to run through?

    Crazy yeast bag idea?

22" dia. X 22" high without the cone.. I haven't made the cone yet but I'll figure out the measurements for a 60 degree cone

    Crazy yeast bag idea?

Ya a rubber gasket will work.. I've done it on 200bbl fermenters

    Crazy yeast bag idea?

Not sure yet.. Maybe I'll keep it outside (hidden)

    Crazy yeast bag idea?

You got it! Ding ding ding

    Crazy yeast bag idea?

Can anyone tell me why this won't work now? I drew a simple pic to help ppl understand. I build my tank like I was normally except make bolts going up on the clad rings and make a removable cone to add for fermenting in the same vessel.. All I have to do is rotate it after I bolt on the cone...

Duda diesel b3-23a plate chiller for 36 gallons?

Oh ya sorry 50 plates and I'm not too sure of the temps of the ground water.. I live in Victoria bc (on an island close to Vancouver) so it doesn't get overwhelmingly hot in the summer and it snows usually one or two days a year
