    Interesting brewing story

Hey it IS a great story. :D Make sure you follow up on the offer of letting them know when you do the next brew... it's great to make friendships like that!

    Need Help?

Yay, another girl... Yes, I reckon your bf will definitely love it. I just got myself a Coopers Micro-Brew kit that has everything I need to do a first brew... and it holds the full 23L brew (30L primary). I like it so far... but only three days into my first brew fermentation... I...

    When bottling/sanitising...

Thanks so much for the replies (and for not pointing out my spelling error in the title, argh)... I'm using household bleach at this point unless I can find something better before bottling time. (I live in a small town with not much in the way of HB supplies).

    When bottling/sanitising...

Hope I'm posting in the right section... After sanitising, do you bottle your beer while the insides of the bottles are still wet? Otherwise you would have to air dry and I'm assuming they would become contaminated while waiting for them to dry... Sorry it's such a dumb question.

Heck... So I need at least three primaries?

Heck... So I need at least three primaries?

No I don't, but feel free to buy me one, I'm willing to give it a go... haha. I just have an old beat up van (I need it for my job, I'm self employed) and a lovely motorbike I bought brand new two years ago. We have lots of beaches where I live so I could do with some kind of vehicle to...

Heck... So I need at least three primaries?

Well I'm honoured to get such a cool post from Jack, thank you. It's good to see someone else who drinks a similar amount to me. :) As for wood chopping, well it's summer here so don't need to get into that for a few months yet... instead, I'm out riding my Honda VTR1000. :D As for calorie...

Heck... So I need at least three primaries?

Um, it's just me... I'm single. Live alone, but my best friend lives across the road from me and she drinks bourbon, she's single and lives alone too. We drink together most nights. The secret to no hangovers is water consumption. I drink water all through the night. Now I'm beginning to...

Heck... So I need at least three primaries?

Hmm, I didn't really think that was a lot. The beer I buy comes in 440ml cans and if you have seven or eight of those a night then that's between 21 and 24 odd litres a week. Doesn't seem like a lot, lol.

Heck... So I need at least three primaries?

What's a 1bb setup? I think I might try to make my own primary bucket thingy. Where would one get a spiggot from? How do you punch a perfect hole for the spiggot? And where do you get the right size hose from? I live in a small country town and have limited access to supplies. Can't even...

Heck... So I need at least three primaries?

I wish I had read up in here before putting my first batch on. I would have set it up to ferment at a lower temp... The cupboard the container is in is steadily at 26 degrees Celsius (78.8 F)... the instruction booklet said 21 - 27 degrees was the optimum... Not to worry, there's always...

Heck... So I need at least three primaries?

When I read the Coopers Micro-Brew Kit instructions and saw you could make 23 litres and have it bottled within 4 to 7 days and then do the secondary fermentation in the bottle for 14 or more days I thought that was perfect. Now after reading lots of posts on here I see these figures are too...

    When foam pushes through airlock...

Hi everyone, thanks for the replies... Will get a blow-off tube setup... It's fermenting at 26 degrees celsius (78.8 degrees fahrenheit)... hopefully that will be ok.

    When foam pushes through airlock...

Hi, this is my first post. I prepared my first home brew yesterday evening (using Coopers Micro-Brew Kit). This morning I found it happily bubbling away. Now I have foam pushing through the airlock. I added some water to it to try to flush it. More foam has pushed out. It seems to have...
