I couldnt care less if my beer comes out clear

I will drink beer ofcourse no matter what, as long as it tastes good. I think though as I get better that I will refine my system to try and get clearer beer. After making only a single batch, I've heard a lot of skepticism from people who think home brews are "wierd" and prone to giving massive...

Drinking bottle-conditioned beers from the bottle

Do many people drink bottle-conditioned beer from the bottle? I am just wondering what the consensus is on this. I have brewed just a single batch so far but have poured all into a glass. I have been told that the yeast at the bottom is harmless but tastes nasty and can give you gas. I would...

    Bottling after dry hopping???

That's a good question. I wonder if the hops will sink and how well they will stay down when siphoning. If there is no sack for the hops you might be able to just siphon, hopefully skipping the chunks and yeast at the bottom.

    Newbie Mead Question

I have just brewed my first beer and have recently noticed that basic/simple mead looks relatively easy. I haven't read much about mead but have tried it before and liked it. Would someone be able to use any kind of honey? I'll be honest, my wife would be very open to the idea of me making...

Here's how my first all grain brew day went

Maybe I should count myself lucky, my wife is very tolerant of the smell and loss of the kitchen on brew day! Of course she worked at a brewery-restaurant when I met her so she has an appreciation for beer.

    Cold Crashing too high maintenence...

I don't mind it too much, it's not a big deal. Just curious if it was possible. This is the first I've heard of using "gel", I think I am going to read this thread all the way through.

    Cold Crashing too high maintenence...

This may be a noob question but is it possible to significantly reduce the sediments in bottles when bottle conditioning? I thought that was just the cost of dong business when bottle conditioning.

    Drips from oven hood

Thank you all for the good tips! I think I will just wipe away condensation and try and get the hood replaced.
