    Miller High Life

Man I am search damn hard for a clone... But I can't find anything. I think it is funny how with a title like Miller High Life in the recipe section only has 3 posts and 4 views. LOL

(Zips up Flame Suit) --- I was just thinking about asking this question.

    Lager with no airlock

You could put some sanitized tin foil over the top with a rubber band around it. It'll let CO2 out and not much in. Works for starters. I don't really see it being a problem especially if the mini fridge is going to be left alone and not opened very 15 min like the one in the kitchen.

    Krausen in the blowoff tube

I would say not to worry about it. The only issue I see is if you used a small diameter hose and the hose clogs. Probably not going to be an issue though.

DME/LME/Hops pricing questions and sources for Eastern Canada

Also going all grain will cut your cost significantly. You'll recoop your investment on the equipment in just a few all grain batches. If you wanna get into all grain really cheap, look up BIAB (Brew in a bag) on here. I just bought ingredients for an all grain irish red with a Wyeast...

DME/LME/Hops pricing questions and sources for Eastern Canada

Everything is a trade off. hopsdirect.com has awesome prices and I'll bet they'll ship to Canada. 8-15USD per pound is a good price. My LHSB just received a new shipment of hops from a new harvest. Everything they sell is 2USD/oz. Since I brew about once every 6 weeks or so... Ii buy locally...

    extremely long fermentation

You should be fine... Check the hyrdometer reading and when they stablize, that is about it. Cooler temps with ale yeast means it is going to take a while to ferment. Also there looks to be a fair amount of fermentables in that recipe. Even if it is in there for 4 weeks, it should not...

    Will I have bottle bombs?

Lol... I say, bottle it, wait a week, chill, then drink. Works for me in the past.

    Cracked the first homebrew...

I remember cracking open my first home brew. I was ready for all sorts of fail... but, I turned out really well. The LHBS knew what they were doing and really hooked me up. Had the first batch turned out terrible... I prolly would not have come back. Congrats

    Does scorch flavor age out?

Ditto.. I can't stand the burnt flavor... I'd personally toss it. I really enjoy the process of making beer. So I just brew another batch and live and learn.

    Bourbon Barrel Porter Stuck?

Although I can't remember if I actually brewed this kit.... I have made Bourbon barrel porters in the past. I always added the bourbon after the initial fermentation stopped (ie the secondary). Same with the oak chips/cubes. Depending on the yeast that you used, I move the fermenter to a...

Will my extra hops last and be safe for dry hopping?

Crap....! Looks like I'll have to move my hops... You say the freezer?

    Amber Ale FG too high

    +1 works for me

    Temperature control after fermentation

I supose it really depends on what you are going for. I personally say +-2-3F should be fine. But that is just me.

    Temperature control after fermentation

I doubt it'll finish lower than that. I have bumped up the temp of fermentation in get the beer to ferment out more completely (Last day or two of fermenting). 1.013 is pretty good though.

Clean up - Splattered wort on stove top

    Awesome!!! I'm gonna try that.

    Gravity check

I read 1.148. Still pretty rough though. Wonder what that'll ferment down to?

The one that almost got away... :)

Ever brew a beer that was damn good and when you went to brew it again at a later time you realize that you lost the recipe..... I brewed a Simcoe IPA about a 6mo ago. Prolly one of the best brews I have ever had. Went to go brew it again a few days ago.... Turns out I lost the recipe. So...
