    Widmer W11 KGB Recipe Clone

Yeah, I am with the previous poster. It is a great beer. Had it at the Zwickelmania Beerfest at the brewery in February. They had some really incredible stuff. I will subscribe to this thread. Prost!

    First taste of a Saison

The NB Saison got high marks so I ordered it, and I have good news and bad news. After 35 batches or so it is by far the best beer I have ever brewed by far! 10 gallon batch, one in the keg and one down in storage. Bad news, my regulator broke four pints in and I have to wait for a replacement...

Looking for a Blonde with Citra Hops recipe

I think these would go well together, but after doing some searches I have come up with just about nothing. Anyone have some info on this? I think this would really impress the SWMBO. She could have her friends over, I get to serve them drinks and it isn't my usual Saison which none of them...

Best Beer ever, and a broken regulator.

After taking it apart it looks like it is just the outer housing that has the threads and the screw itself is jacked. Should be an easy fix. Gotta get back to the brew.

Best Beer ever, and a broken regulator.

I have a Danby kegerator I picked up at Home Depot about five years ago. It has a Draught Technologies regulator that has been very difficult to turn the screw to adjust pressure. I have had to put a big pair of channel locks on it to get it to move. Well, I carbed up a beautiful Saison (my best...

Things that come out of the SWMBO's mouth!

I had two five gallon buckets from a feisty fermenting batch going in the spare bathroom tub. She said "if they blow up, this whole thing is over." I watched them like a hawk, did the clean up and everything is cool.

First Saison and I have a new house Beer

I have ten gallons of my first Saison in the garage. Going to start in about a week drinking it. The taste from primary to secondary was incredible. Wow. Congrats.

Even hearty Beer drinkers are amazed at my lager ale story

Thank you Qhrumphf. In my homebrew haze last night that is exactly the point I was trying to make. The fact that BMC might get knocked but anyone who has talked to a Budweiser brewer knows they make "the perfect Ford Pinto" everytime. Also that as homebrewers with ales there is a much wider...

Even hearty Beer drinkers are amazed at my lager ale story

Sorry, the point I was trying to convey was that I thought I could just produce what now I know is the hardest beer to make and leave time for the so called hard ones.....stouts, porters and such....and the fact that no one I knew who drank beer knew the production timelines or reasons why.

Even hearty Beer drinkers are amazed at my lager ale story

Ok, I have always wanted to brew beer at home but due to my previous profession I was out of the states for six months at a time and home for two months. Not a lot of time to start a new hobby. I tell this tale to people who I would consider hearty beer drinkers and they are amazed. I...

    My personal best!

It is a great feeling. I feel my lagers are my strongest but take 3 months to complete even with kegging. I need to get better at wheats, another favorite. Congrats! I have had many homebrew parties where your beer is the hit and anything people brought is in the fridge. It is fun!

    Damn, this hobby is CRAZY!

Good stuff. I have gone from simple extract to full all grain 10 gallon batches in about two years. Gotta move slow when the wife is watching the checkbook.

Bought a 1/2" auto siphon yesterday...

There is quite a difference between the flow rate of a 3/8 and half inch. I love mine. I have two give gallon and a six gallon carboy and the half fits fine. Good suggestion to take it to the LHBS.

    San Fran for the weekend...suggestions..

I have done a search and came up with this thread from the middle of last year. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f28/going-san-francisco-week-need-suggestions-186896/index2.html Anything anyone could add? Anchor Steam isn't open on the weekends and I get thirsty (wherever I am). Your...

15 gal pot on kitchen gas range

I have gone from extract on a NG stove to now brewing on a propane burner on our small deck with a burner and a 15 gallon pot. This pot is bigger than I had assumed and would never think of trying to put it on our white appliances even if I didn't have the propane burner. BTW we have some...

20 gallon megapot on a stovetop?? Am I out of my mind?

I am in a 1200 sq ft condo and do 10 gallon batches in a 15 gallon pot. I use the propane tank off my BBQ and a banjo. I would never think of using our stove. ~Diz

    Harvesting yeast - how to?

I just reused yeast for the first time this past weekend. I have been doing a simple Canadian style brew and it has turned in to my haus ale. Anyway, I did a ten gallon batch with two different yeasts in five gallon buckets. I didn't remember what was what so I guess I will find out when they...
