    if im not mistaken u can get a beginners acid etching kit from walmart.. u can either free hand it, or they have an assortment of sticker like applications that u just put the stickers on, wait a certain amount of time and wash off.

    i dont make much cider, but wyeast has a strain specifically for ciders.. and cold crashing helps improve brilliance.

    thanks for all the answers! Hermit, ill get the pressure cooker a shot cuz im always willing to try something new, and this is probably the last 'real' use of my pressure cooker once i figure out how im going to start my steam mash system. thanks again!

    Wild hops?

    transplant at night, it will lessen the stress on the plant if u plan to transplant the whole thing. a burlap bag works well for making sure you dont break too many roots. and right before u put the plant in, supplement with B12 to reduce transplant shock.

    i have this same model and converted it in about an hour. i didnt bother with a tower, i have two taps on the front of it. this is my first kegerator and is definitely a conversation piece. most of my friends were at first like 'what the hell is that?' until i pour a glass of golden goodness.

    Why not just leave hydrometer in primary?

    unless u have a thermometer in your primary, temp differences will give u a different gravity.

    i highly recommend installing on a jump drive. i use BrewTarget and i keep it on my jump drive on my keychain along with my favorite beer recipes.

    for aerating i use an autosiphon with a T in line so as the wort flows to the carboy, the venturi effect pulls in air and suddenly i have aerated (and frothy) wort. cheap aerating solution, cost me a buck i think.

    maybe look into using a kolsch yeast strain. its a pseudo lager yeast so u can use your swamp cooler

    Incredibly long primary fermentation... help!

    personally i dont see anything wrong with adding a sachet of yeast to bottling, people sometimes add different kind of yeast to add to complexity. but i doubt youll have any trouble at all when it comes time to siphon to a bottling bucket. the procedure for siphoning would stir up enough yeast...
