Thoughts on Saison style w fruit/brett

I would think that you would want to start the fermentation with the saison yeast, then pitch the brett and the berries. The extra sugars will give the brett something to chew on while keeping the flavor profile of the saison yeast present. I'm sure there's more to it than that so someone else...

    Best Beer Store in Indy?

Thanks for the replies so far. Unfortunately, I'm only in Indianapolis for one night, so I don't know how many pubs I'll be able to hit. I wanted to make sure to be able to get some bottles for future enjoyment though. Foosier, I will try to at least have a couple of pints from local...

    Best Beer Store in Indy?

I will be flying to IN in a couple of weeks to visit some family. I can't wait to try some of the brews I've been hearing about but can't easily get on the west coast. I'm looking for a store in the Indianapolis area that has the best selection of craft beers from the east coast and Midwest...

    REALLY Used Corny Kegs

I bought a couple of these "number threes" from the site you linked to. They weren't all that bad really. Came pressurized and ready to go. Best price around if you're on the west coast...Craigslist shows me no love!

If you could start over and had $1000 what equipment would you get

The morebeer hd kettles are worth the money IMO. Be advised that if you ever plan to do 10 gal batches, a 10 gal kettle will not be big enough. I got the 15 gal kettle, and I do 5 gal batches in it as well as 10 gal. If you really aren't sure yet, I would spend as little as possible for a...

    Oregon brewers ....help

McMenamins in Bend would be a decent place to stay. I find their beers to be pretty mediocre compared to all the other great Oregon beer. The atmostphere is nice, though and it's walking distance to some good pubs in Bend. In Portland try the Green Dragon, Horse Brass Pub, and Saraveza. You...

    attenuation of WLP810-high FG?

Made a batch of Cal Common two weeks ago. Pitched yeast starter built up twice, and fermented two weeks at 58-60 degrees. Krausen fell after only a few days and what appeared to be vigorous fermentation. When I racked into my keg yesterday, I took a reading and it was at 1.020. Does this...

difference between gas and liquid poppits on ball lock kegs

maybe I do mean posts. I just remember reading "when you put the keg back together, don't mix up the gas and liquid sides" or something to that effect. I'm just trying to figure out if there is indeed a difference, or if the posts/poppits are interchangeable.

difference between gas and liquid poppits on ball lock kegs

I read somewhere on HBT that the gas and liquid poppits on corny kegs are different somehow and that you shouldn't get them mixed up. I'm wondering how do you tell them apart, and what happens if you get them reversed?
