    Outdoor Bulk Brew-Sesh Weekend

Ill cap a few in a few... finishing up with some friends here and cleaning up the debris... I'll snap some. My living room looks terrific with 11 primaries behind my couch... just ask my girlfriend.

    Outdoor Bulk Brew-Sesh Weekend

11 5g batches. The other 2 I coudlnt brew... Pumpkin cans aren't in ANY supermarket in the area... and I ran out of Chocolate Malt and Cocoa Powder for the Nutella Stout... those two will have to wait until next week or so.... or maybe tomorrow...

    Exploring "no chill" brewing

I still have the removable piece of the airlock off -- Cotton ball ontop soaked w/ vodka, and starsan/vodka sprayed foil ontop. I check them every once in a bit to make sure they are still wet - and add a it of vodka if needed. So far, none dry. More hardcore filters can only be a good thing...

    Exploring "no chill" brewing

Yea, I took the removable piece out of the airlock -- put a vodka soaked swap ontop - then aluminum foil ontop with the lid sitting on that. Now that I think about it-- I should probably put that other piece of the airlock on after about the first 30 min or so... first 30 min it wasn't letting...

    Exploring "no chill" brewing

After reading 70+ pages of this, Im going No-Chill for all the beers I'm brewing this weekend. I'm 2 deep already. Multiple 5g batches... right into ale pail. Sealed up, swashed around, and airlock with vodka-swab ontop. Can I get a vote of confidence here? This is scary...

Triple Hop Pils in the Primary - No Chill at that. I may just No-Chill this whole day... that was easy... too easy... Oktoberfest grains steeping now.

    Outdoor Bulk Brew-Sesh Weekend

ITS ON Rig is set up. Took me a while to get the feel for the new SQ14 at first... but after setup and delays... I'm 1/2 through the first brew. Rage on.

WTB ASAP : 3 Fermentors in NJ

Not bad. I ended up going to my LHBS shop and paying their full retail. I figure it's the cost of my ill-preparedness -- andif I'm supporting my LHBS, I'm into it. I bought all my previous containers from Baytec Containers online - 6g with lid was about $8 a pop.

WTB ASAP : 3 Fermentors in NJ

13 5g Batches. It started smaller... but you know how it is... Labor Day Weekend, indeed. See Original Thread Here: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f13/outdoor-bulk-brew-sesh-weekend-188344/

WTB ASAP : 3 Fermentors in NJ

I under-ordered my primaries. I need 3 more primary fermentors by this weekend. 5g batches, so 6gal and up if possible. I live in central jersey. I'll prolly go to LHBS and suck up the added cost in the name of supporting the LHBS...

    Delayed Pitching vs. No-Chill?

+ My HDPE2 Buckets are allegedly rated for 190F - dropping my 210f+ boil in there just makes me skeptical to leaching plastic flavors. Ever accidentally use a plastic-coated paint bag for a grain bag before? Yea... that will make you leery about heat and plastic for a while...

    Delayed Pitching vs. No-Chill?

I'm thinking I like the idea of just brewing on the reg, and chilling down to room temp in a sanitized primary environment. Seal it up, and pitch 24-36 hours later. My lids are still solid, as I haven't drilled airlock holes yet. I think I'll keep them solid until it's time to pitch. Pop...

    Delayed Pitching vs. No-Chill?

Interesting. I like step 4. Why aluminum foil? Why not the alcohol-soaked cotton swap as perviously mentioned?
