    InkBird Temp Controller Comparison?

As stated I would use the ITC-308 as it is only $6 more(ITC-306) and you have the dual controls for your Frigidaire IF you want to use it as a fermentation chamber at a later date. The ITC-1000 is GREAT when building a keezer so you can hard wire it into the collar. You could get a project box...

Cooling wine closet with a chest freezer?

If you have room in the keezer for a big enough glycol tank, how about getting an old AC condenser from some old big American iron(before its sent to Japan and comes back as 3 Honda Accords), plumb the glycol through it and use that with the fan as the cooling radiator in the top of the closet...

    Newbie Question... wort temperature

I'm new to brewing also but was told if you are a few degrees below the target pitching temp, that is best. As you raise the temp during the first few hours of fermentation the yeast wakes up and becomes very active. I'm also told, pitching yeast on the warm side and than letting the wort cool...

Converting an old sears cold spot chest freezer

I kind of agree with AM52 and JS. I share an old freezer with a friend and we use it as our fermentation chamber using the ITC-308(InkBird - forum sponsor) as the controller. Easily holds 3 carboys and works great with a $10 heater from Walmart(pic attached). If the cooling side fails we should...

    Marking your carboy

It has a 40" x 28" foot print with a "Z axes" of 16"(IIRC) so I guess if I set it up correctly I could get 2 inside.

    Marking your carboy

Just did my first carboy. I have access to a Laser engraver so it does not take to long to finish. Took longer to fill the carboy and mark it with a sharpie then to use the laser. The 6 gal mark was the tough one, laser head just touched the corner of the carboy as it moved. 3gal mark is wet...
