To answer your question, yes that would work fine. I have a round cooler that I have used a braid and then later a false bottom in. Bazooka tubes work as well.

Same. When I need a quick turn around, I make BierMuncher's Centenial Ale. I can go grain to glass in 10 days (but it gets better after another week or two)
It looks as if photobucket wants me to pay to be able to share my pics... so this is what I did
I used a 1" hole saw that allowed a little play for the shanks in the holes. It allowed me to get the spacers centered without having to be so precise that my holes had to be exactly in the middle...
No specific recommendation, but I would suggest that where ever you are, search out local brew pubs. I try to do that when ever I travel and have found some gems. Of course, I have found some dud too...
I just got back from a trip to the Quetico Provincial Park. I went on a canoe trip to the Boundary Waters with my Dad about 45 years ago and finally got a chance to do the same with my sons. We had a great time. Fishing was great and the weather was decent.
