    Tap-a-Draft System

I got a tap a draft system for Christmas http://www.williamsbrewing.com/TAP_A_DRAFT_STARTER_SYSTEM_no_P729C120.cfm?UserID=3790545&jsessionid=d830e7d89be96c447742 Is there anyone out there that can give me some update advice and their thoughts on this system? I did a search and most of the...

    Replacement Yeast Help!

Great! Do you realize that if you keep answering my questions....I'm gonna keep asking them??? :) To cold crash then, would I transfer it to the secondary and the cold crash or transfer it and let it sit for a week, then cold crash? I'm guessing this will still leave some yeast for the...

    Replacement Yeast Help!

Like I said in the previous post....I am still a noob at brewing.....so could you explain what/when/how to cold crash? The first time I heard about it was on this forum. I think I have somewhat of an idea, but I'm not real familiar with the concept.

    Replacement Yeast Help!

My temp is typically between 67 and 70 degrees. I understand this can affect the yeast, but not to the extent of zero movement in 6 days. It still has a pretty sweet taste to it. I figured what is the harm in re-pitching some yeast? With the sweet taste it seems like the is still some...

    Replacement Yeast Help!

I started with a 1.053 SG and the instructions said to move it to a secondary after 5-7 days to let it finish fermenting. I moved it a little after the 5 day mark and my SG reading at that time was 1.025 which is at least 0.010 off from what it should finish at. After 6 days in the secondary I...

    Replacement Yeast Help!

I am repitching some yeast in my Dunkelweizen because I transferred it into my secondary too early (it is about 3/4 fermented but I still have to get my SG down a little). It has been in the secondary for 6 days and the SG hasn't moved at all so I was advised to try and repitch some yeast. It is...

    Yeast Rafts....?

I don't remember what yeast I used for sure. It came in a Brewers Best Dunkelweizen kit.

    Yeast Rafts....?

I'm not sure if my beer is contaminated or just has yeast rafts. Does anyone have any pictures of yeast rafts?

    Possible Contamination???

I just check my SG and it's still at a 1.024 today. Now it is based on the beer that is in my satellite fermenter but it was switch to a new bottle when I transferred the main batch into my secondary. I'll just leave it for a couple weeks....then I should know.

    Possible Contamination???

Alright, I've come to the conclusion that I racked it TOO early! Would pitching more yeast help me get the SG down a little more or should I just let it ride a little longer in the secondary to get it to drop?

    Possible Contamination???

UBER thanks for the help! I know it's probably stupid, but I have been stressing over the fact that I may have to dump 5 gallons of beer! 1. Would pitching more yeast help? Or just shut up and let it go for a bit? 2. How will I know if it is mold or yeast rafts?

    Possible Contamination???

New member and first time post! I am fairly new to brewing and I love it! I brewed two batches about a year ago (a honey ale and a red ale) and would like to start brewing on a more regular basis. I just brewed a new batch of beer and about 3 days ago I transferred it to my secondary. I am...
