    Help with an STC-1000

I hate to see people put the probes in water. There is nothing that states it is waterproof and if water gets inside it's ruined. This is why they make thermowells....

    concept question.

Cold plates in ice cool beer down to serving temps, running beer through 38 degree water might get you the first couple pours but I'm not sure it would keep up with multiple pours. Can you fit kegs on the hump?

    Help with modifying kegerator

This is not true!! I don't have the Frosty Keg so I don't know about that brand but almost all new mini fridges have internal cooling lines.

so what's the worst part of brewing for you

There is nothing I don't like about brewing. Cleaning is a bit of a pain with 30 gallon pots but it's still not as bad as going to work....

    Messed up my starsan ratio

Yes, most likely it will be fine. From what I understand 1oz/5 gallons is more then needed but they give that ratio to be sure.

    Assistant Brewers' Age?

My kids think it's cool I brew and they like to help with the hop additions. My daughter likes to build stuff so she helped wire the 120v and 240v relays and switches. They are also very good at weighing and vacuum sealing hops....

    Help with modifying kegerator

what ever you do, do not drill from the outside of the fridge!! Drill the plastic on the inside then remove the insulation so you can see the coolant lines that are against the outer skin. I drilled a 1/16" hole on the outside once and killed my fridge. Here is a pic of my QD on my kegerator...

    New Pot Size

In my 19 years of brewing I can't count how many times I've heard people say this. Not many of those people stayed with 5 gallon batches because 10 gallons is the same amount of work and you get twice the beer.

The one that holds the most grain.... They both work the same.

    HEX Redesign

A small 12vdc motor on the lid would spin the water just fine. Moving the water will make it much more efficient.

    DIY Tap Handle?

    Rocket Stove Heating Element

Actually the one I built is a wood gas stove, as the wood burns air goes over the top to burn the smoke which makes a very hot burning fire.

    Rocket Stove Heating Element

I built a rocket burner that burns wood pellets and has full heat control. I wouldn't use it for brewing because it would make a sooty mess on the pots. Here is a video of it working. Click on the pick....

    Fermcap working?

I'm afraid of that stuff, they used to use it in breast implants but quit due to safety concerns. I know you only use a few drops but it never really goes away so if you use it in every batch eventually you will drink the whole bottle.

Where can I get Wyeast shirts?

White Labs sells shirts on their site.... http://www.whitelabs.com/gift_shop.html

    Rocket Stove Heating Element

You will definitely get a lot of soot on your pots but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

    two tier stand

I think the "2 up, 1 down" set up works the best on a two tier system. I think it's better to pump the sparge water and gravity feed the boil pot. Here is my automated rig.

    Another broken glass carboy thread

Buckets are safer, easier to clean and easier to move around when full. You can also put a spigot on a bucket for easier transfers. The only drawback is if you scratch it you will have a place for bacteria to grow so only use soft sponges to clean them. Welcome to the board and congrats on your...

Blichmann Burner and a freezing propane tank

When I was using propane I kept the tank in water, that kept it from freezing.
