    Help with spices!

I am working on a Christmas beer recipe and I want to use these spices: Ginger, Nutmeg, Seeds of Paradise, and Cinnamon Sticks.... I am not sure on amount or timing on these, so any help would be nice. Or if you have a spice that's not on the list that you would suggest, please do...

Thoughts on my 777 IPA recipe

I brewed this a few nights ago. Didn't quite hit my OG, but gonna let it ride and see how it turns out. Fermenting at 70f and going strong.

    Old Fashioned beer recipe...

Thoughts on this? The chips will be soaked in woodford reserve. Should I add a little vanilla? How much cherry? Aroma hops? The idea is not to have an old fashioned in a beer, but a beer that will remind you and have similar flavors of an old fashioned.

Grain bill for Mandarina Pale Ale...

This turned out very well! I ended up adding another 1oz of orange peel during the secondary since the orange didn't come through as much as I hoped after primary. Great mouthfeel, juicy and a little more orange than I wanted, but it's a really good beer! Thanks for all the help people! :ban:

    Wai-iti Wheat recipe... Thoughts?

Never had Wai-iti, but it smells great, so I'll tweak after if it's not pronounced. The honey malt at my store was used in my last one and it didn't come through as much as I'd like, which is why I'm going 1lb. It's dried from the store.

    Wai-iti Wheat recipe... Thoughts?

Need help on the orange and lemon peel... Id like subtle flavors, but have never worked with lemon, so not sure what to expect... Most of the grain bill is baed off another wheat I did recently, so it's tweaked to where I want at this point... Trial and error :drunk: Cohesion Wai-iti...

First shot at a session beer....

    Good advice there!

First shot at a session beer....

Yea, I've never liked session beers, which is why I'm giving it a shot. Just want to make a drinkable, low abv pale/ipa with some malt flavor without it being too watery...

First shot at a session beer....

Session IPA was the idea. Are you thinking the rice or corn would add some body?

Thoughts on my 777 IPA recipe

I appreciate that replies! I am not a newbie to craft beer by any means, love me some hops, but I am new to all grain brewing (this will be my 5-6 batch) and my first real IPA, had a pale that got away from me on the ABV side, but tasted good. Anyway, I think of something like Heady that has...

First shot at a session beer....

I have not brewed it yet, that must be the last date I tweaked the recipe in BS.

Thoughts on my 777 IPA recipe

According to that my RBR is 1.19, so is that crazy bitter? Never used that scale before. .5 is said to be balanced, but is that out of 1 or higher?

Thoughts on my 777 IPA recipe

Good point, hadn't thought about that. Still figuring out BS. So how do you calculate that in BS, assuming a 60 minute boil and potentially 20 or so minutes to bring to a boil?
  14. GundyGang1

Thoughts on my 777 IPA recipe

No, 60 minutes. BS wants a time for the FWH and since I use my stove it takes a while to get to a boil, then just starting to add at 15 minutes left in the boil.

Thoughts on my 777 IPA recipe

So, if you haven't guessed yet, I am a newbie at this all grain stuff. I am looking over my last couple brews and realizing the connection of FG and dryness... My wheat was at 1.012 and has a good mouthfeel, but could be a little more. My pale was 1.010 and I thought that was a little thin, so...
