    Did my warm lager yeast starter cause my fermentation to lag?

    If i have fresh wort the day i keg i pour all the yeast cake into a clean fermenter. Saves having to clean and sterilise a bottle and store it in the fridge.

    Did my warm lager yeast starter cause my fermentation to lag?

    I stopped making lager starters a long time ago. I pitch 3 packs of dried yeast (27l of 1040 wort) and reuse the slurry next time. I do this about five times and then use fresh yeast;

    Did my warm lager yeast starter cause my fermentation to lag?

    Should not be a problem as its common practice. How big a starter, whats your wort OG/ grist? What are you fermenting at?

    Brewing bretted lagers

    I don't want this beer to sour as i have a lot aging already. I have made some nice red sours using 100% beersel blend and lacto and they had significant brett character after a month and quite drinkable. Happy to wait three months though if necessary. Problem is my garage will be getting cold...

    Cheap source for carbonation caps??

    I know its an old post but would you have any idea what size seal i need for a SS carb cap? Somehow lost mine, tried one from a flip top bottle but that's useless. Searched but cant find anything. Cheers

    One month, low abv mead test.

    Pressure fermenting would be good so you could drink it straight from the fermenter. Sounds like a nice drink!

    Adding isinglass to a pressurised fermenter

    Apologies for not replying, misplaced the jumper lead. I seem to have part way solved the problem. I have 6 plastic carb caps and when attached to plastic quick disconnects only 3 work. It looks like the pins in them are slightly lower then the working ones and they don't allow the gas or liquid...

    Adding Fruit after Second Ferm

    I have not tried sugar but i can imagine it might taste a bit weird. One thing i might try next is reducing some apple juice to add to the glass. You can add fruit in the keg if you have something to contain it but i have found as the keg empties the flavour fades. Mrs has made blackberry...
