    Ale's Similar to Lagers

I used WLP029 for an Oktoberfest. I was my first attempt at a pseudo lager. I fermented in the mid 50s. The yeast did not mind at all. In fact, it was one of the longest and steadiest fermentation I have seen (Not a pro, only 18 brews). The airlock was steady burping for 7 days. After two...

How long to keep Sanitizer solution in spray bottle

A spray bottle of Star San is an awesome tool. As long as you mix it up with distilled water, it will last pretty much forever. Good luck!

    Brown ale done already?

Sounds like you need to start looking into yeast harvesting and storing. Why buy yeast when you can continue to reuse it?

    Brown ale done already?

The temp inside the fermentor is likely going to be a bit higher than water surrounding it.

    Brown ale done already?

Well.. there is one surefire way to find out, and it involves a hydrometer... I wouldn't take a gravity reading quite yet. Lack of airlock activity does not equal no yeast activity. Might just be the first two days the yeast were going crazy and now they are eating away at a more...

    how much spice?

You know it's spelled pumpkin, right? Not pumkin? I would be careful with clove. It tends to overpower everything else. I don't add it at all anymore.

Does anyone use a BIAB style bag in their mash tun?

I did a BIAB mash in my kettle and had a hell of time keeping the temp right. I am going to get a 10G Home Depot cooler and mash in that. Problem should be solved. I don't know why more people don't do it, easy clean up and relatively inexpensive.
