Mother ****in mice in my mother ****in grain!!! True. I tossed it all today. Bags torn, and full of mice turds. Any suggestion for storing? Thinking coolers or those large plastic Tupperware type containers with tight fitting lids.

I love the once or twice a year kitchen sink recipes. I've made some wonderful spontaneous "I want to brew without shopping," batches over the years. Lots of left overs + yeast cake = fun brewing session!

Chlorine ... Yes. Chloramine ... No. Boiling will not remove chloramine. If that is what they are treating with then a campden will take care of it. 1 tablet for 20 gallons (1 for 5 is fine).

Another thought ... Find out what they are treating it with or try a campden tablet while heating your kettle....

Call your water company and ask for an e-mail or fax of the water report. Watch hardness, pH, and alkalinity. You will want to do this anyway before attempting a mash, so get it now.
