    I need pot.... Suggestions :)

I am getting ready to do my second boil and I have concerns regarding my brew pot. My first batch didn't turn out great and while I cannot prove it I think my deep fryer/crab steamer pot probably did not help. So, help with suggestions: Use my All-Clad everyday, heavy duty stainless pot that I...

    Batch Number 2

OK... Going to go start Batch Number 2 this weekend. I am thinking something light and fruity (apricot or something similar). First batch was a fail... After speaking with some local home brewers I think I either didn't get my wort temp low enough or I killed the yeast by adding it dry...

    1 Month in...

I used a kit and used all the sugar that was provided. I dissolved it and let it get to room temp before mixing so I am assuming I used the correct amount and blended well. This is my first batch so I goofed on the "pre" gravity reading so I am totally winging it on the gravity, next batch...

    1 Month in...

OK... Sunday will mark a full month in the bottles and I have tested two through that time. Last sample proved that the cider, or my newly discovered definition of "green" taste is diminishing but still a bit light on the carbonation. See picture for comparison; my brew on the left, Yuengling...

So, I am a bit anxious...

So, based on this feedback I now know that I seem to be on track and things are progressing well... Just need to wait it out a bit longer... I still have a 2L growler and a case and a half of bottles to go so i'll be in good shape come Christmas. Maybe Santa will bring me some bubbles in my...

    Yuengling lager

So, probably a 50/50 split on the Yuengling in the community -- does anyone have a Yuengling Lager recipe to try for the aspiring home brewer?

I love it as well. Lived in PA for most of my life and now living in Denver so it's a rare treat for me!!

So, I am a bit anxious...

Well I only added the sugars they told me to - not sure how I added too much... Anyway, point taken, back to waiting! :-) I'll pick my next flavor next week ;-)

So, I am a bit anxious...

Ok... Cracked one and when I popped the cap I had nice carb sound when I opened it but no head on the pour. Also, it has a bit of a 'cider' taste to it... Happy with the color (see attached)... Should I be worried about the cider taste? Not worried about the carb based on this thread but a...

2 weeks in bottles.. OK to drink..??

I started a similar thread today but I am only at 1 week :-( I am going to open at least one today to see what it tastes like at 1 week and then again in a couple more weeks to see how they taste along the process. I figure it can only help me to be educated for future batches...
