I picked up 6 last night that was bottled in May and I didn't notice any difference. It's a very popular beer, so I can't imagine they changed it, but anything is possible. Could've just been a bad batch that you had.

At 450 calories per bottle it is absolutely a meal. They have a 90 minute that is a good extension of the 60 if you can get your hands on it.

+1 on the freezer. You may want to consider a stand up model though. It may have some trade offs (cold air escaping) but it will safe your back.
