    Thermostat and in freezer thermometer has different readings.

    Bought a cheap liquid thermometer and have an analog thermostat hooked up to the chest freezer.. It is set to 62. Inside it reads 55..

    Thanks I think I got it this time. :mug: My wort cooled in under 15 min and I pitched yeast at the correct temp and I have a cooler this time around. Last time my batch got up to 80..

    I just notice a little bit of the the stuff from the last brew stuck in the carboy. It is only a few specs and I don't have my brushes to get it out.. I hope starsan is enough :(

    So you just turn off the burner? I read that some people add it to cold water then slowly bring it up to 155.

    Ok so... this is my time line... See I boiled the grains last time soo that explains some problems.. This is my time line then.. 20 min of grains at 150 to be safe rite? Pull grains... 60 mins boil of .5 mag 10 min of cascade Turn off heat.. add more cascade.. Can I add the clearing tablet...

    If the recipe reads.. .5 magnum (60 min) 1.5 Cascade (10 min) 1.5 Cascade (0 min) I boil each of those for the time stated? 60 min of .5, 10 min of cascade and I dry hop the other cascade? It is a pale ale.. For the grains how long do I steep the grains all the way through the boil at...

    Yeah I bought it. I wish I would have checked the onboard themorstat before I bought it. I almost shorted it out when I was trying to fix it. But now it works duct taped on lol..

    Yeah but having to add a fan, blower and mod it to make it work was too much work for something someone wanted 300 for. I am just going to buy a chest freezer.

    I emailed him and back out of it. After reading all the reviews where people would buy a Danby and everyone telling them to take it back.
