Saison/Sour Belgian Split with ECY Yeast opinions.

got a bit of advice from other venues, and it looks like I will be doing the above recipe, but doing 3 oz of Saaz at 90, and 1 oz at 10 minutes, whirlpool and drain off 5 gallons into the carboy for the flemish yeast, and then add 1 oz Saaz to the still hot wort left in the kettle for a few...

Saison/Sour Belgian Split with ECY Yeast opinions.

So I got my hands on a ECY08 (Saison) and an ECY02 (Flemish Red) yeast. Been coming up with a recipe to split a batch between the two of them (brewing this weekend, but may not get another chance for a few weeks) Here is what I came up with using the ingredients on hand, any thoughts...

    6 gallon carboys on Amazon

I got my two yesterday. The box was in terrible shape, but the carboys themselves were intact. Only issue is one of them has what looks like a bubble in the glass... I need to toss some colored water in there to see if the bubble is open to the inside of the carboy,, if so that is an...

    Marris Otter Styles questions

What ale styles would Marris Otter not be appropriate for? I usually do Bitters and British styles, so I stock up on sacks of MO. Looking to try some new styles, and wanted to know if it would be an adequate sub for say, the base malt in a Saison. Thanks!

Think I went overboard- Too much hops

Thanks for the response! I have been brewing for a few years now, but mostly British styles and a few stouts. This is my first attempt at a hop forward beer, so nice to see I didn't go off the mark.

Think I went overboard- Too much hops

In an attempt to do an impromptu brew day with a friend, we grabbed every available pale ale/IPA type hop out of the fridge and went to town. Think this may be overboard, or great? 5 Gallon Batch Maris Otter 9 pounds Munich (Light) 1 pound Crystal 10L 1 pound Mashed at...
