To keg or not to keg??

I always fill a couple bottles as soon as I fill my keg. Drop a couple carb drops and cap. Much better than bottling 3 cases.

First timer, Wonder if Im doing this right!

Temperature? A low temp can mean a low slow ferment

Plugged Corny Kegs - need opinions.

I was thinking about a diy floating pickup. Why would you say expensive? It seems strait forward

    Sweetners

Without using a ferment able sugar huh? Plus one on the Xylitol, and stevia works. What I would do since I don't care for any of the sugar alternatives is back sweeten at the time of consumption with a jumex http://www.walmart.com/ip/Jumex-Apple-Nectar-11.3-oz-Pack-of-24/17194303

    The boil

No effect as long as it all goes into the same fermenter.

new brewers / reducing the brew day

Equipment is key. It takes me about 5 hours to do a ten gallon batch because I am not in a hurry and I need to do extra things that someone with more burners and pumps could do quicker. I love to start heating strike water at 6am. Doesn't go any quicker, but feels like it.

So when you dip your spoon in the pot you don't get killed.

To keg or not to keg??

I have to disagree there. In order to carb your beer in the keg, you need to put pressure on it for an extended period of time. If your connections are connected and working properly you should not be leaking at 30 psi.

Too much water topping of carboy question.

Is your goal to get a really accurate reading? If not, than I would just leave it alone. The yeast will mix it up as it ferments.

    Aluminum bottles?

I think you'll be fine. Those caps sit pretty tight. I've never tried them though. I've considered it while drinking from one. I think it was coors. I have had great success with quart sized glass bottles with twist tops. The silicone always seems to sit tight.

    Brewery Pump

I did a small test run. Works very well. You can thread silicone hose onto the pump with no leaks.

    Brewery Pump

I just purchased one from Amazon. I got all ss connections and a valve. I am planning on using only for recirculating. I am planning to get it all screwed together and tested this evening or tomorrow. I'll post a video

What are you doing instead of brewing this weekend?

    It's Arbor Day! Plant trees

5 gallons of beer leaked from Keg overnight!!!

You could ice it. Something I've wanted to do but didn't have a beer that I wanted to try it on.

    Make Concentrated Wort?

You're limited on batch size due to small mash tun. If 7lbs of grain won't get you there than you have no choice but to mash twice. But you can mash twice and sparge into all the containers in your house and just start boiling it all down in one kettle. Once you're down to 6 gals add hops and...

    Make Concentrated Wort?

Just brew twice and add both 3 gallon brews to one fermenter. Twice the work. Also, it's 67degrees out right now. Perfect brewing weather.

    Make Concentrated Wort?

Hey I just looked you up, my wife and I spent a couple nights in Lago Vista this past summer. Really nice area. I'll let you know if I have a Keggle to give away down the line.
