    The "Dear" , "Sincerely" thread

Dear Wife, You ate my deer meat and got the runs 30 mins later and now you will never eat deer meat again. I will now make sure you get the runs from all other meats until you come back around to deer. Because I won't stop shooting and eating deer. Sincerely, the man you think poisoned you.

Need help for husbands Christmas gift

Oh, a honey "based" beer would be a mead, and I personally don't care for them. If he were to add maybe a half gallon of honey to a regular beer, it would really stand out but maybe not so good.

Need help for husbands Christmas gift

A wheat beer with honey and coriander, orange peel and other spices would be something to research. A Blue Moon clone extract recipe would be something to google. You shouldn't need a gallon of Honey for a five gallon batch, just a pint will do. As for distilling, I think a corn, wheat, or rye...

    Splitting batches between two fermenters

What I do is use a barbed T and split the tubes into each fermenter. Make sure they are the same height and make sure there is and even siphon and you will get the same amount in each. This takes away the need to make sure it is mixed well. You need to make sure that your kettle valve is at...

    Confession Time

Its a coincidence that I saw a spider in my wort during full boil. Saw it once tried to fetch it out but it sank and I didn't see it again. Going keg that beer next week. If you can put oysters in beer a spider certainly won't hurt.

I wish I could use straight up well water. You are at an advantage with that one.

    Newbie- need help, something odd

I would also ask about your kegs dip tube. You may be getting yeast from the bottom making it look brown.

    Holding mash temps.

Can you give a link? I've shopped for pre built on Amazon, but only one choice and we're talking $300

pump advice for $50 Herms Build

I think the consensus is still out on pump longevity being effected by either control method. I don't know at all, just using what's available and hoping for the best out of this cheap pump. But yeah pinch the hose. I kinda wish I had thought of that to save some $.

    Holding mash temps.

Is is aluminum or ss? Thin ss kettles are not meant to be moved while full of liquid. Not sure about being half full though. Sorry read your post. Looks like you have moved it several times now

Bayou Classic - Very bad experience

I'm with the OP on this one. Maybe some of you are old enough to have lived before the age of online shopping and advertising when customer service wasn't an issue. As a millennial, I feel rather entitled. I know it can be a character flaw, but it's what drives markets to perform better. I...

Wanting to Make a Fermentation Chamber

A chest freezer from Craig's list with a diy collar will be your best bet if you can lift the heavy buckets or carboys. You will someday move into kegging and be glad you have a duel purpose freezer. Plus costs are pretty much the same.

pump advice for $50 Herms Build

Fair enough. I use the valve with this pump, but nothing more. I'm not sure about pump longevity. Mine seems to work fine at a trickle, and can move 2 gals per minute at 12 v

Why is commercial beer getting more expensive?

I'm with you. I love me some good craft brew. That is why I brew my own. But a $5 6pack of pbr sure goes down easy for the price.

Would this work for a DIY wort chiller?

Thanks, I googled it and edited my post [emoji3]

Would this work for a DIY wort chiller?

The temp rating is for a closed system. It is more of a pressure rating that says if you closed the system 150 degrees is max before the pipe bursts. Your good up to 400 degrees with that tube. Buy 50 feet though. It's worth it

pump advice for $50 Herms Build

If you're just manually controlling flow, why not just use a valve?

20 feet is not long enough.
